Just a quick question: Is there a function within video players to remove the effects on the left and right side shown in the picture (in which case I could leave it like that and upload it anyway)? Or would I have to do some manual cropping?

It's from ALD-414 btw.

I use AutoGK when encoding vids to XvID .avi's - and I can "force" crop within it's advanced settings if necessary. Are you aware of AutoGK and its function JaqTaar? PM if you want more details
