What does it mean when i try to buy something on the r18 website and i get this message:An unexpected error occured. Please contact the support center.
But the payment still processes and goes through? This happened twice now and i contacted them but has this ever happened to anyone on here?
When you contact support make sure you give as much information about the error as possible. Your OS, the browser you were using, time, and item you were purchasing.

Yes, this has happened to several people on here. There's another thread about this. I have found that it can be caused by two things:

1. Recently changing your card number in your r18.com profile.

2. One of the items in your cart is causing the issue. Try removing one movie at a time from your cart to isolate the bad movie. Then report the movie to support.

I have to use VPN to access dmm.co.jp to download JAV trailer. R18 just don't have enough, and don't have what I need.

How to download movies on DMM channels without login account?
Are you asking how to pirate every movie in the channels without registering and purchasing a channel? I'm afraid you cannot do that. Register, purchase one of the trial channels if you like (it's less than a dollar) enjoy every movie on the channel for 2 days and see if it's worth it for you. If you can't afford to pay less than a dollar, skip buying that coca-cola at lunch today and spend it on porn instead.

Captain, I suddenly find it ironic that your avatar is a pirate. I kid...

On topic, though, I will say that 80+ cents for 2 days of snooping around and watching this scene and that scene from such a huge amount of movies is a MEGA value (for a preview).

Well then my apologies. As for downloading tons of movies at once, I'm not aware of anyone requiring the need to do that, so I can't advise you in that matter. Streaming seems to work fine for everyone else who uses the service and wants to watch a video on demand.

The irony isn't lost on me, if I can't have some fun while at the same down shutting down sites that promote piracy what's the point! Speaking of which you will notice there are significantly less JAV pirate sites then there were a few days ago. Slow and steady wins the race.

I like all the avatars you guys use on R18! One thing I'll ask again (asked already) but I remember DMM having a pay per minute section! R18 won't have that ever??

Thanks, I drew them myself.

Regarding the Pay per minute section. It is something we would like to eventually add, but we have a lot of things we are working on that come first. The idea is to offer everything from DMM on R18 to overseas users but, it's not as simple as just slapping an English language band-aid on the service and releasing it.

Captain a question to you:
I am a customer on R18 now for several months. I have subscribed channels and were quite happy with your offerings.
Yet - regarding the DREAM channel: While I was subscribed you removed around 3000 movies (!) from this channel without warning, and the channel description says over 11000 movies, in reality there are only 8500 movies in the channel now after the change. The change seems to be real, not just the search function, since older movies found on my history can no longer be streamed and downloading is extremely slow.
The deleted movies are older but very good movies - a real loss. Many newer movies are just mainstream, regardless of the category they are in. Older movies often are much better even if the quality is not so good.
Will you continue to remove movies? Because if you continue to remove old and good movies, you very soon will loose me as a customer. The newer mainstream can be found elsewhere, uncensored and not really interesting.
Please consider making a new channel, which will contain only older movies (from 1995 to 2008 or so). If you remove movies from channels because they are old, move them to the new channel - I am sure this new channel will have plenty of subscribers - me included.
And removing 3000 movies in one strike without warning is not a good idea, I am quite angry at the moment...

If they insist on using DRM the service has be to be good. Removing someone's access to a video they have paid for is a scummy way of treating your customers. I've stopped purchasing anymore videos because of the crappy download speeds that they refuse to acknowledge or address. Talking of an even restrictive pay per minute system tells us that you're planning on further fleecing your existing customers for all you can rather than keeping the customer satisfied.

I'm re-boarding the pirate ship but the real pirate behavior is coming from the way that site and it's behavior to it's customers.

There are a bunch of good blogs that un-drm and update daily.

Don't pay for it. It makes no sense, you never really own the product unless you buy a hard copy and even then your subjected to only things that can play dvd's.

And at at this time, mostly everyone plays it on their comp. And I have no idea who still installs DVD drives in their comps.

*sigh*
The DL speed is bad, was even exceedingly bad today: From 50 to 250 kByte/sec. This is less than 10% of the possible speed. But - there seems to be a problem with their DL servers, since I also had DL speed of 2.5 MB/sec, but just once for one file. The rest was frustrating, since I tried to restart several times without receiving a better speed. But on some days I can DL with around 1.5-3 MB/sec, and this is okay (for Europe). I also usually cannot stream without lags, but this would also be ok - its a long route.

The other thing: They did not exactly remove access to videos I had already bought - if you buy a video, you have the rights to view it as long as your account exists. The problem is, that they lowered the quality and content drastically without warning. Videos I had earmarked for later viewing were deleted and even if you stored the link, they cannot be streamed anymore and the DL is very slow.

My question to R18 (which I also wrote to support) is what happened here? They describe over 11000 videos in the channel, but actually - and showed in the same tab - there are only 8500 videos. Either something has gone wrong - or they do not care. We will see.

I usually prefer to pay, since there is less hassle with downloading. I am not a collector in the sense, that I want to store the movies here locally for a long time. I do not do this. I DL what I want to view, and several days later I delete it. And DL it new, if I want to view it again. I also would not buy a DVD for the same reason.

So R18 was ideal - sure, some movies you can get on the Usenet or via direct download, but it costs a lot of time to search them. Sadly R18 is NOT DMM, DMM always had a lot of movies, also older ones and special fetish movies. R18 has not - and no, I am not interested in Loli movies. Despite that the selection seems to be reduced to me. And movies tend to disappear after several years. They make good movies even today, but they are not on R18. Older movies were very good - but the are deleted. There really should be a solution for older movies (those which came out on CD) in special categories, beginning with 1995 or so. I cannot believe that I would be the only one or one of a few which would be interested.

The reason I like JAV is that they are not mainstream crap, especially in the categories that interest me, they have good acting and drama and beautiful models. But I see a tendency to have only mainstream crap on R18 too - and this I can DL from nearly everywhere. I take no offense at censoring, its fine with me if the movie is good. But mainstream movies censored, fairly expensive and with slow DL - rather no.

Thats my take ATM on R18...

I think you guys need to let up some with your ire towards Captain Bondage and R18. Although it's universally agreed that DRM is not a good thing, you can't deny that they do provide a pretty inexpensive (aside from new releases) service for JAV fans across the world. It has its bugs and going by the length of this thread, there certainly are things that need improving, but they are helping the international AV community rather than damaging it.

Actually, this is more damaging.

But it is filling the pockets of DMM executives.

We are looking into it now, it seems there were several channels affected. Please be patient as we are working to pinpoint the problem.

I wish you guys had more JAV synopsis translations. I guess that's too labor intensive and not worth the trouble (They were more frequent a while ago.) but maybe it's possible to include some "This JAV has a synopsis translation!", marker in the overview, instead of having to check each individual movie?

We had a little miscommunication within our team and underestimated the amount of downtime our upgrade would cause across the site. So you will soon see this message displayed on the channels and in your library.

We are currently undergoing an upgrade for thousands of movies to enable playback on mobile devices. During this time, many movies may appear discontinued or removed from the website/Channels/and My Library. However, this is only temporary, and movies will be available again shortly after the upgrade. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Rest assured, the 3000+ movies were not removed from the dream channel, and 40,000+ movies have not been removed from the site. We were under the impression the transition would be a bit more seamless... apologies! The movies should be re-appearing across the site in the next few hours in the order they are upgraded.
