I think using VPN will solve the problem

and don't choose english / american flag, just stick with japanase (use google translation when you need to translate, sometimes the translation its not good enoguh but its ok as long we still can access the DMM)

and I think the R18 is still not complete enough compare to DMM, what do you guys think ?

R18.com has the same digital content as DMM plus it use CDN to have faster download/streaming from overseas.
If you buy from DMM you will be downloading/streaming directly from Japan.

I have a Mac, and today, after joining this cool site and talking with you guys, I finally joined R18.com to get some vids I've always wanted. However, the files I've downloaded (wmv files) are not playing on my Mac. I have GOM Player AND VLC. I have Google Chrome and Safari, but I just DL'd Firefox, as I read that Chrome won't work.

Even the streams won't work for me - and I downloaded Silverlight and tried to watch on Safari.

What can I do?

If anyone can truly help me, I'd be happy to share what I have somehow: DANDY-119, DANDY-167, NHDTA-846, DANDY-287.

Hi,

If you are trying to STREAM a movie please open your browser Firefox or Safari (working on the workout from Chrome right now as Google removed silverlight support), install Silverlight and then you should be able to stream the movie. If it does not work please send me the screenshot with the error.

For watch a downloaded movie please install the R Player from http://www.r18.com/info/tools/ and Silverlight and then you will be able to watch the downloaded movie.

Do not use any VPN while you are trying to watch the movies. The movies purchased from R18.com just work with R18.com servers and DMM movies just work with DMM servers.

Wow, thank you very much. I give it a shot and get back to the thread later!

Guys, I was just thinking if there's any way i can view my previously downloaded DRM videos in their original resolution whenever i want by just renewing a license for a cheaper price & with this i came up with the idea which i want to share.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if JAV membership sites introduce ONLY 'Drm license renewal' memberships which only allows you to watch previously downloaded DRM content at cheaper price. No new downloads are possible with this membership. And if you also want to download, you can do that with regular memberships.

This way they can save their download cost & pass it on to their customers in the form of cheaper memberships. I think with this implemented they will get loads of subscribers, generate more revenue & also it will stop piracy.

For Eg: We can subscribe to Mature channel for 5000 yen annually or may be 500 yen monthly to view the videos that were downloaded in previous months. (No New Downloads Possible)

I think this can be a good model from business perspective as well as from consumer point of view. I believe people here from DMM & R18 will certainly share their view on this idea.

Thanks

So R-Player...
- how do you resize the window to the original video resolution?
- how do you stop the volume to resetting to 50% on every launch?
- anyone else experience playback stutter even with decent spec machines?

@R18.com

Got any tips for finding employment in your industry (not as cast)? What technologies/areas would be best to have a core focus/strength in?

Throw some of us a bone :)

At DMM/R18 we use almost any technology. We have more than 600 engineers :)
600!?! I didn't know that you need so much work power for the web site, the internal organization as well as producing movies (as many JAV companies belong to DMM) and so on. I mean we're just talking about the IT engineers, not about other professions.
If the whole company would have 600 I would say that it is very efficient. ;)
Would be nice to know how many people work in which field, but I guess I'm asking to much. ;)

Yes, More than 600 just engineers.
Keep in mind that DMM is not just porn. We do many other business as 3D printing, Solar panels, English teaching, 3D hologram theater, FX, Mobile carrier, live concerts, games, managa etc etc etc

but people on W7 and older can only use the old, not improved player?

Thats right. We are looking forward so we are expecting that everyone is slowling upgrading from wind7 to window8.1 and to wind10. It does not make any more sense for us to be upgrading our new player and the old player for an OS from 2009.

As you can see the main stream support finished from Microsoft also this year:
