Hi there,

Since yesterday, I have problem accessing DMM.co.jp, I already tried all the methods here but nothing's works, the problem is, I CAN access all the actresses pages like :
http://actress.dmm.co.jp/-/detail/=/actress_id=1023544/
http://actress.dmm.co.jp/-/detail/=/actress_id=1023356/
http://actress.dmm.co.jp/-/detail/=/actress_id=1020495/

and so on. but there is no works under their name, so i CAN'T access their latest movies or any movies under their name... and it's started with Ogawa Rio's page first, at first the error only occured in Ogawa Rio, but this morning seems like the errors already affected all other actresses is there only me whose have this problem ? Or it's happen to all, because something happen to the DMM ? Thank you

I can also access the ones you mentioned. But there are no movies listed. Instead there is a message 「この女優の動画作品はありません」 (There are no movies of this actress). So it is not a technical problem, it seems.

That actress subdomain to dmm is something specific. Try using the digital section's actress_id plugged into a search from that section:

http://www.dmm.co.jp/digital/videoa/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1023544/
http://www.dmm.co.jp/digital/videoa/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1023356/
http://www.dmm.co.jp/digital/videoa/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1020495/

EDIT! I don't know WHY...but every time I include links to DMM you will meet with an error message. But all you have to do is click in the browser's address bar and hit ENTER

That's true. Maybe it is the referrer which is the problem. If you click on the link the browser sends the referrer (the site which directed you to the requested page) in the request. Maybe DMM reads that and reacts to it. If you push the enter key in the address line maybe the referrer isn't send because you entered the address "manually" (not really, but yeah).

I recommend using these links. I never had problems with them:
http://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/dvd/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1023544/
http://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/dvd/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1023356/
http://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/dvd/-/list/=/article=actress/id=1020495/

Also mono/dvd lists more movies than digital/videoa.

http://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/dvd/-/list/=/list_type=release/sort=date/

I use that link to see the new releases since it's the most accurate. When dmm started blocking people outside japan I found putting the link into google translate got around the block. You can still get around the country block with the google method however now after the translate you cant click on anything. You can still tab through every link but its a nightmare to navigate like that. Is there a fix to make things clickable again or a way around this?

Pushed a button it seems. Punishment and r*** scenarios is not the same as selling "r***" as a product. Which again, you will not find on any US based content providers.

And as for your dear tubesites with lots of r*** porn, there is no doubt that people are uploading that content. But again, they are doing so against the rules of the tubesites themselves. Don't believe me? Here is a snipped directly from the TOS of xvideos for your pleasure:

You further agree that you will not: submit material depicting or implying r***, forced sexual acts, bestiality, death, use of controlled substances (implied, staged, simulated, artificial or cartoon/drawn/art);

I put that in large letters just in case you wanna get angry again nice guy.

In other news... Taiwan/Hong Kong should now be able to access and purchase products from the DMM website again.

I live in the States and was able to successfully use my card to purchase a movie.

Quick question: For some reason, when I go to the pages of some movies (specifically under 月額動画/Monthly Videos), there is no shopping cart but rather ご視聴はこちらから and options to stream or download. What does this mean? I am afraid to click on anything for fear of being charged.

Here's an examples:

I signed up earlier week, and added a 'virtual' Japanese credit card through lifecard.co.jp.
Doing this, I was able to download two movies.

Today, I can't log into my account. The "forgot password?" link won't send me a password reset e-mail.
I created a new account, and tried to add the same virtual credit card - it won't let me do that either.

It looks like DMM is cracking down on people creating accounts from overseas?

This is what I get for trying to go the legitimate route. All I wanted was access to their back catalog - for example the PPPD series, videos PPPD-002 through PPPD-014. :(
I'd buy the DVDs, but they're long out of print, and they don't seem to be showing up on Yahoo Auctions in Japan either.

I am actually wondering if there is a way to speed up the download from the DMM site?
Brought a couple videos, would love to download it instead of streaming.. but it seems like it will take forever to download

DMM launches new site R18.com for overseas users.

DMM launched a teaser for their new site, R18.com yesterday. The site is live now with the ability to sign up for their newsletter.

I am sorry if this has been addressed before but there are too many posts in this thread.

Is there a way to save the preview pictures from the video pages. In the past, with an older version of Firefox, I could disable javascript after clicking on the thumbnail and pulling up the full version of the image, then right clicking and picking "save image as." But now I don't see a way around it other than capturing the screen everytime and pasting into an image editor.

holyabdu, the easiest thing to do in Firefox without using any plug-ins would be this I suppose:

Righ-click on a thumbnail and select View Image
attachment.php

You will get that thumbnail showing in your browser
attachment.php

Now just add jp to the end of the dvd code
attachment.php

And you will have the full image
attachment.php

I think this works with everything in the digital area.

Holyabdul, would you do me a favor? Would you please explain to me why that Casshern2 is so ridiculously knowledgeable?

I dood it, and it worked like a charm - amazing. And will you look at the way CH2 doesn't leave anything to chance with a person's comprehension, going the extra mile with his step-by-step illustrated instructions? What a luxury, especially compared with the way a lot of Akiba-Online members are infatuated with one or two-word responses. It's wonderful.

DMM has been acting mighty peculiar, of late. Maybe their name is soon going to be changed to PMS.

I made a joke about how I couldn't get DDB 172 to come up in a search, at the bottom of this post over here. (As well as mentioning a few other quirks from DMM.)

I choose the "-DVD" setting of the drop-down menu on the left side of the search box. Some prefer the top listing that is for everything, and I've experimented with that too.

As I wrote in the aforementioned post, I managed to get DDB 172 only by going through the leading actress' listings. So the movie was listed, it just refused to come up via a search.

I'm aware of the "double-zero" trick (in this case working out to DDB00172), and that failed to yield the correct result as well. I never needed to resort to this trick, as putting in the hyphenated (or non-hyphenated) code was all I needed to do.

I have had subsequent experiences that proved to be wash-outs, including HHP R053 (for which the double-zero trick worked), and most recently for RCT 468, for which nothing worked. (Tracked it down ultimately, via one of the featured actress' listings.) Thought I'd let you know.

Hopefully, the problem will be temporary, as I understand DMM is going through some changes with an R18 version of their site, or whatever. Sure is becoming frustrating, though.

(I purposely omitted the hyphens for the DVD codes mentioned above, as I didn't want folks searching for these movies to deal with an irrelevant post.)

EDIT:
To clarify.

DMM has a bunch of sections, "Monthly," "Digital," "PPM," etc. - when you run a search for a movie, the "Mono" section is their basic section, far as I understand. For example, here is a link I have on record for JUC 700, pointing to the Mono section.

Sometimes that "Mono" section is no longer coming up. My settings (observe the red highlights) when I run a search:

attachment.php

The pictured attempt for MADV 294 came up dry. Employing the double-zero trick came up with results for three sections, none "Mono." The others don't always have the same information the "Mono" one does.

Have you tried JAVZOO (formerly JAVIMDB)? You can search by DVD codes and then right click on the pix (they hot link from DMM) to figure out the DMM specific code. I'm not sure that will totally solve your problem but in general I find it's most reliable to search on DMM by the full or partial title in Japanese. And JAVZOO can help you with that too.

Over in this thread I'm developing a program that would collect metadata of JAVs. And when I type in your problem cases into my program, each one produce a good result, giving me the cover image on DMM, screens on DMM and full title, actress (in both Japanese and English) etc. That should be enough data to help you find the vid on DMM. (?)
