I watched the interview. She's a very self-possessed person and at no point expresses regret for her career as a porn actress. In fact she is quite positive about her experience. She is not playing the victim at all and certainly not asking for anyone's pity. I'm not clear how you are reading such things into the interview.

I saw this interview as well, then went and picked up a few of her bukkake titles, which I enjoyed very much.
She was very matter of fact about her career and answered all the questions in a very candid manner. She was pretty open about how she never would have made it as an "Idol", and realized very quickly that she could make a big splash, and better money, getting into AV full time. It was very clearly all about her wanting to be a star and afford the sort of accompanying lifestyle, which she was able to achieve. It definitely helped that she was up for anything and quickly progressed from relatively plain vanilla shoots to hardcore shoots early in her career.
The one thing I was totally perplexed about was her attitude toward her career in relation to her desire to start a family. She stated, and I am paraphrasing here, that if she had kids, when they were old enough to understand, she would tell them about her AV career and let them make their own assessments/judgements etc.
Knowing what she knows, and having been there done that, she would, for example, tell her daughter "Yeah, there are videos online of old men having sex with your mommy and ejaculating all over my face, and it made me famous and funded my lifestyle, but you have to make up your own mind about it"?

I somehow don't think that is a way any loving parent would describe acts of sex to their children, in whatever context. That whole thing with her boyfriend losing his shit was awful. What a dickhead. Emily ended up confronting the mother, telling her that if she had a problem, she should say it to Emily's face or drop it, especially if that is her only issue of contention. The mother, to her credit, responded in kind and let it go. The whole time, the boyfriend was very accepting of her career and they had a healthy relationship if I recall correctly. Was very pleased to see that outcome.
I think this relationship spurred the conversation about starting a family, but I am not positive on that.
Over the course of the interview, Emily logically breaks down the AV industry and what being a part of it entails in terms of risks, rewards, and how it is a HUGE commitment with serious consequences.
When she speaks about how she will present this to her children, it is fairly obvious that when it comes time to have that talk, it will focus on what she learned about the industry so they can understand, and as previously stated, make their own minds up about it with an insider's perspective.

Yes. Ok, I get it, now. I think in part my reaction was based on the sense that some people don't like it that these actresses might actually not be ashamed of their careers.
