I think about predictability of plots. Sure there are tropes and certain series and studios stick close to them, but I personally also think diversity and unique setups are one of the strengths of JAV vis-a-vis Western porn.

I have posted this earlier in my gripe and I both prefer JAV and also going back to western porn now because of the this exact same both arguments that i think is different side of the same coin. JAV have themes and story lines which make it superior to western porn.
But if every story of the same theme is the exact cookie cutter assembly line with different actresses , that the story itself become meaningless , don't you guys think so?
In my a/m post , the photography NTR JAV segments are always the same , exact same clones segments with the first part being the wife unwillingly become a model because of boss can't find a model , touch and no penetration first shoot , wife get very aroused , boss find wife alone and screw her , boss and cameraman 3P , wife love it become slut. I would be so happy if they mixed things up and actually have a suprised penetration in front of her husband in the first shoot. But for some reason , first segment must be intercrural like following a manual or something.

This always been a small gripe for me.
And I do understand there are those who love these types of series e.g. same themes, just different actresses.
I did for awhile...
It's why I stay away from such repeated themes now.
Just customized the jav you want and leave the rest for others.

Yes I know it happens... a lot. But still odd.
It's like someone said,
Studio 1: "Hey we are filming Karen Yuzuriha in a swimsuit today... and it's r***pe!"
Studio 2: "Ok, we'll hire her... and do it too." "Could you send us your script?"
This is related to the discussion of reusing plots, and I understand budgets are probably tighter these days, but my gripe is previously interesting studios like SCPX just use the exact same sets for a lot of their recent releases. SCPX uses that one ugly bedroom, KSBJ uses that same living room, etc.
Situational studios like SCPX used to spend the money to use actual locales for the themes, now its just that same bedroom with a supposedly fresh scenario. Just feels a little lazy to me.
Edit: On the flip side-whoever invested in the fake Family Mart set-hats off to you! Making both the customer side, the stocking area, and the rest area does show some commitment to the bit!

I've think it's both lazy and budget. A change of scenery is needed for immersion.
I wished you screen shot so we could know what scenes.

Indeed some money was spent over the years making it look real.
Ok, now you've got me wondering, lol. The exterior shots at night could definitely be a real Family Mart they've paid to use.
On a related note, I've been perusing a bunch of old Natural High and DANDY vids-can't believe how many were shot on actual subway trains/buses.
It's painfully obvious now which studios now just use that same fake subway train with the white opaque windows-I wonder if they could at least budget in a green-screen to add fake moving landscapes/scenery-CG for that must be affordable.

My first gripe is about the apparent demise of scanlover. Especially because I had discovered the wonderful sub releases by someone named heavenazer (sp?), who evey week was uploading dozens of subs, all free of charge, and most importantly, was open to requests. After checking his thread twice for all subs and making sure that my request wasn't available elsewhere, I finally entered my own request at the beginning of last week. Then I sat back to wait patiently for finally learning the meaning of my favourite jav, which was made in 2015...then two days later Scanlover crashed and hasn't been onlline since. Kind of tragicomical in a sense.
Moreover if this is the last we have seen of the site - it's now seven days or more - it's diappointing that no contact has been made to users. When scanlover 1.0 went out of business (very small business) we were told well in advance, and a number of heads took the initiative to create a new beginning and scanlover 2.0 was born.
But this time, nothing.
Guess that means Akiba is finally all on its own.

Some of the tape is to cover up tattoos, not because of injuries. There's this one actor who has a tattoo on his arm and on his chest and they're covered in tape for a lot of his scenes.
What's going on with Hunter's numbering recently? The HUNTC series have all numbers up to 22, then they start skipping and the last four numbers are HUNTC-055, 093, 097 and 112. They all seem to say HUNTD instead of HUNTC on the cover but they really are listed as HUNTC on the official website. Which lists 37 HUNTCs right now, highest number I see is 184.

Lot of these guys are quite ugly. Not shaming them, but you can see why the actresses doesn't seem like they want to kiss.
But you're right, many look like hip/knee replacements. I've see lots of discolorations and etc.
Makes me wonder what happen to the guy.
Keep in mind that since JAV uses lots of the same actors, we might be seeing the same ones hahaha
Yeah, it's embarrassing for an performer like Abe, because he's great without it. He used to have hair but went bald years ago.
JAV are used to weird number like this and usually there a reason. But I don't know.

I checked your link to the hunter site and randomly zoomed into some cover images and they all seem to be labeled HUNTC (not -D) for the ones I spot checked.
For the numbering, it's possible that the new JAV laws that require 3 month hold between filming and release screws up the numbering order vs the release order. Like a production will be assigned a number before filming, but then the delay ends up with higher numbers being released before lower numbers due to different filming or editing dates plus the 3 month wait period.
Yeah dude was (is?) a legend. He posted so much subtitles each day and for the brand new JAV. I think maybe he still does in some discord server but well... who knows
