Immersive 3D Content and Enthusiasts (oh boy...)

Hi, @Casshern2 . I've downloaded videos you shared and tested, but there are some issues.

I am using a smartphone(Lenovo one) and a headset(you can consider it is cardboard) for playback. Your videos are encoded with VR1D in 30 fps, 10 mb/s and 1600*1600. I tried various player to play, most of them, like aaa vr cinema, vr player free, cannot support the codec. Some who can, however, is lag and bad image.

On the other hand, I've tried some USA/European ones on the same device with the same players, the result is pretty smooth and... really immersive! Moreover, these video are even 60 fps and with higher bit rate, but encoded with MPEG 4 V2 in 1920*960.

Seems the codec and resolution of your videos are not friendly to smartphone VR solution.

So my questions are:
1. Videos you shared can be played on smartphone?
2. What software and hardware are tested and suggested for them?

Sorry, @amourpower, I can't answer those questions for you. I have a Samsung Gear VR and Samsung Note 5. Aside from the 30fps (instead of the better 60fps) I have no issues other than a millisecond lag here and there. @maschi apparently has some specific gear as well. A Lenovo phone is an Android phone?

Also, these aren't my videos, I got them from the afesta.tv site, so I'm not involved in the encoding process. I share them as is. Not sure why your gear can play the heavier stuff but not this. Again, sorry, friend.

I can't really help you either. All I can say is that none of the videos are in 60 fps and some of them stutter really bad. You CAN convert them into 60 fps and most of them will run more smooth, but not perfect.

I have no experience with any other VR gear other than Vive, which is considered to be the best to date (even better than oculus according to some) and the JAVs are far behind in quality and technique compared to US/EU movies, but I'm sure they'll get there sooner or later.
And I too have resolution/proportion issues with some of the JAVs, no matter what player I use. What I'm saying is that I'm not sure you can't play the videos correctly, but more that the videos aren't optimized the way they could be.

Just getting into the VR area, thank you @Casshern2 for the posts! I will say VR adult content is pretty amazing, can't wait to see where this goes in a few years. Might never get a real date again. Will agree the US/EU quality of filming is way better (color, lighting, vibrance, resolution etc). My setup is smartphone-utilitarian but works well:
  • Nexus 5
  • Durovis Dive headset (do not recommend)
  • VRTV VR player by Chai (highly recommend) - I upgraded to the paid version because the developer earned it, by far the best viewer I've used. Super easy to switch from 180, 220, 270 and 360 panorama while playing the videos, most/all of the JAV videos use 360. I tried AAA, VR Player Free, I like this one the best.
@maschi I also have stuttering issues playing the JAV videos that were kindly uploaded by @Casshern2 in this thread. To fix videos with this issue, I put them through Handbrake (freeware) on the Regular > High Profile setting, and now have no issues with playing the videos with minimal loss of quality. (Handbrake is awesome).

And I recommend Vive for you! I know it's expensive, but it's worth it! :blink:Again, I deleted all of my regular porn the same day I got my Vive and I don't regret it one bit! :cerutu:

I went to check out AVVR out of curiosity....holy crap they have hot actresses, they got Mei Matsumoto!!!! I don't really know what afesta has currently cause that site is blocking pics for me, but AVVR's lineup is better in my opinion than afesta's past lineup. I wish I had money to join these sites, but checking a few samples from AVVR, the scaling and pov seems a little off, like my eyes are at my chest level. You have to use a 3rd party cardboard like VR player to zoom in or out.

Casshern2, I was wondering if you were able to get this or other vids starring this girl, Aimi Yoshikawa I think?

Anyway back to your problem, I think most likely afesta implemented some kind of geo-blocking or they completely block off your IP. There are some workaround you could consider such as using VPN. Unless your account is block as well, you should be able to access the site again.

VRplayer free should be able to play those video uploaded by Casshern2. I had no issue. The only thing is to play with the FOV setting to get the ratio right.
Of course the framerate is an issue, but it is acceptable to me.

What is the price range for the Rift? I think the Vive was like $600, but doesn't include the purchase of a powerful gaming pc right?

and for anyone deciding between vive and rift, I can tell you first hand that rift is superior to vive in every way now that the oculus touch controllers are out. I've used a Vive before (my buddy has one) and I have touch (just released this month), touch is more accurate and comfortable to hold. It feels like your hands are actually in virtual reality 1:1, with the vive controllers if feels like you're puppeteering hands, instead of moving your own hands. Also, the rift headset is more comfortable and better engineered than the prototype looking vive headset. The Rift headset feels nearly weightless on your head and has built in headphones (with vive you must compromise comfort even more by using traditional headphones ontop of the headset). Pretty much every tech site agrees with my assessment about rift (with the release of touch, its now the clear choice). They all agree rift is the best Gen 1 VR option. So my recommendation is; either get Rift + Touch now or just wait for Gen 2 and see what the best option is then.

EDIT: I come off as a bit of a rift fanboy in this post lol. Don't get me wrong Vive is also a great VR option, rift just edges it out slightly (imo).

Damn, I guess I might have bought the wrong one then.. Unfortunately the Vive is quite uncomfortable after a while.. Can't use it more than like 30 minutes.. But I didn't think rift would be any different. I'm waiting for generation 2 when they're hopefully more comfortable and have superior resolution and quality picture. But from what I've heard/read the Vive has a slightly better picture..? Either way the Vive is the best thing that has happened to my "porn life" since porn entered the internet! :cheers:
