I know this is true in many cases, but I was actually surprised when I watched a few uncensored and unedited leaks by how continuous the action was. I had always assumed that most cuts in a finished film represented breaks in the action for the director to issue instructions etc. But it turned out in the leaks I watched that the cuts were mostly, as you mention, to make the transitions between camera angles smoother, but the fucking continued all the time the camera was switching to another view.

In uncensored movies, sometimes, one shot can be few minutes when there isn't anything specific to change. For example, when they're using toys on a girl. She just has to act like she's getting excited. The actors around just have to use the toys one after the other. There are uncensored movies in which the actor uses the camera himself. So there are less cuts, still, the girl is acting for the camera. Like Danny D said in one interview, the goal is to make a good movie for the viewer. And on social media or interviews, of course they might say "oh yeah, porn actors are so good". It's marketing. Would you watch/buy a movie if the girl says "he was a douche, I wanted to finish the shoot as fast as possible". It's like fitness influencers saying they're natural (while if you have a brain, you can clearly see they're lying, just to sell their stuff).

Another thing to mention is that editing (audio and video) is key to make everything like one smooth scene as possible. It's more appealing for the viewer.

I don't think so. Or they get some pleasure, but not much. The only real reason why women go into porn is money. And only a minority of them go there for something else.

Of course, I understand that there are many films where the sex action takes up a small proportion of the time spent on set or is otherwise faked. But it was a surprise for me to see, via leaks, that in many cases the action even when it will be edited and censored is genuine and continuous. That's my only observation.

Anyway, I was only responding to the point about interruptions during performances when making JAV. I don't suggest it has any bearing whatsoever on whether "porn star really enjoy" or not. I did my homework. Checked out a couple more titles starring Atsuko Nakashima. Has a standard and typical schtick for all three titles saw: the “kimochi” followed by “iku iku iku”, so many times within the same sequence anyone would question whether she was faking. The difference I saw in BLOR-178 is the male talent really puts her though her paces. The last scene especially she gets slammed with little to no break. Few cuts for good continuous takes. So the panting is certainly genuine and the groans sound more guttural. Who knows is she’s “enjoying” it, but there is certainly less “acting”. She’s also more flushed in this scene but that could just be from a hot set.

Atsuko’s enjoyment aside, the physical exertion was genuine and a differentiator from the other titles. Anyone know who the dude is? I’d like to see him ream others. The director is uncredited as well... would’ve liked to see more filmed by him/her.

I bought the book out of curiousity about the industry an because I adore Kaho. You're right: Kaho comes across as complicated and a little fucked-up in the way she views life and relationships. I like her movies though and the fact that she was try most anything! And her boobs!!!
