Japanese Porn versus Western Porn: The Debate

Western porn have an advantage that western girls (and boys if you fancy them) have better body shape and proportion (because of their height). Else it's JAV all the way.

It seems to me that western porn from the 90's and 00's is not the same as modern western porn, should also separate European porn from American porn, old Private movies are not comparable to modern Brazzers videos. There used to be Italian and German porn with its own flavor, now there is nothing.

The main reason I prefer JAV is because in JAV as far as beauty is concerned we get top shelf girls, while I never see girls in Western porn whom I'd label as among the most beautiful women, they're all "B-liners" at best, and even that is rare. Most look like regular chicks with nothing special. So JAV actresses are far more appealing.

And there's also the story aspect. JAV does it, Western porn doesn't really ever do it, so no contest there.

Also, lots more genres in JAV.

Way, way back, western(US) porn actually had story lines. In the last 15-20 years though, they have thrown away any story line, and just get to fucking. Looking at European (NOT Eastern European) and Japanese porn, they still have story lines. Sex is sex, fucking is fucking no matter where you are. What makes a film/movie/video watchable is the story it tells.

I get that porn is a massive industry, and growing. Most porn from the US is the cheap, wam-bam-now-off kind of thing. Making a porn film/movie/video, while no where near as expensive as a standard one or even a shoestring budget indie one, it is still, in porn industry terms, expensive. So the US decided to go down the easy route to money, and make the shitty gonzo et all, films, that has a decent chunk of the market.

The next problem is that porn is everywhere today, because of the internet. Amatures put themselves out there, without a big studio to help them, and are making money. There is still a market, quietly buying/downloading/streaming films with a storyline.

Porn with a storyline is much more enticing and captivating than gonzo. The most powerful sexual organ is the brain. Stimulate it, and you'll take of like a rocket.

I do not like tattoos. That's the main reason I switched from western porn to JAV. These days there are a few JAV actresses that have tattoos, but they're the exception, while in western porn a woman with no tattoos is the exception. So for me JAV wins easily.

I would disagree that western porn is more "hardcore". I agree it is more explicit with its uncensored dicks and pussys and high amount of anal. With that said, look at JAV manufacturers like Toyohiko, Dogma, and えむっ娘ラボ(Emukko Lab). If you like rough sex and deepthroating and piss drinking like I am a fan of JAV should be your main go to. If it isn't that's only because the mosaic censorship throws you off too much. Once you get past the censorship JAV is a whole new world. I could also care less about story lines in either western or JAV.

JAV understands fetish and executes fetish titles much better than any ADHD ridden western porn company can produce. Even the smallest of Niche JAV movies have production quality greater than most western porn scenes. These days a good western porn producer is very few and far in between.

Western porn in recent years is over all much more stale and shitty. Especially American based porn. Legalporno is what is keeping western porn relevant in Europe. I'm not interested in pornstars who are basic bitches who do basic bitch shit so I could care less if I can see their cooter uncensored.

Going off what princeali692 wrote, I think JAV has harder themes, sure, but western hardcore as a whole is harder than JAV. I mean look at a lot of it in the west: condoms rarely used and lots and lots of anal sex. Very rarely now in mainstream JAV do we have either.

I've seen mostly Euro-teen titles that have starlets with no tattoos, but, even there they are starting to creep in. Plus, if you prefer women instead of younger stars, that, too, is getting harder to find without tattoos.

True, there are much rounder (proportionately) ladies in Western fare. That's why I never really ignored it over JAV, I go back and forth in phases (I'm actually in one of those phases now). Another advantage is the classic closeup. You can't have a closeup, say, of a star or two going at it on a penis. I mean, I've seen it in JAV, but, with the mosaic what's the use.

Anal is now not special anymore. Before, it would take months even years for an actress to do her first anal scene. Now, some even start with it. Girls have to take huge dicks in every hole, and it's not uncommon that they need to take some kind of painkiller, and all other drugs just to not feel the pain during the hours of shooting. And that's mainstream porn. Unfortunately, productions like Digital Playground used to do (I don't know if they still make them) with a story, is probably just a niche now.

With that stupid trend of "thicc" (I would rather call them "fat" because it is simply fat, cellulite everywhere), natural girls with hot bodies are rare. Girls like Jenna Haze or Tori Black are rare now. Beside Melody Marks, I don't watch any US porn actress.

There are way less fat girls in JAV, there are some trying to copy the US style like Maria Nagai, but they just end up looking so fucking stupid with giant fake asses and boobs (and fat). Asian girls are slender than western girls, that's a fact. I don't like fat girls so I'm happy with JAV. Girls have slender bodies, with great proportions.

Electromog brings up a good point: technically nothing wrong per billing/card rules about 'stuffing as many dicks as possible in a woman in a bright room' but filming a big budget suspenseful movie ala Attackers is pretty much NG. Which one of these sounds closer to art and which sounds closer (but NOT) obscenity?

I agree with the sentiment that Legalporno is a bit ridiculous and over the top, especially with all the double penetration or triple penetration. It's why I still prefer JAV for the most part.
 
Western porn is about instant gratification. No plot, no build up, just give viewers something they can fap to right out of the gate. And the quicker the better, which is why most from the "major" site studios have offerings that are on average less than an 45 minutes.

I quite enjoy some of Primal's stuff, especially their superheroines. The indies are where its at for western porn for sure.
