Except that many many Japanese are still financially underwater from the 2000s property bubble, almost 20 years already.Buying properties is one of the safest and most rewarding investment, so it would be wise for av idols to do that. once they retire, their income will significantly decrease and can't afford to party and shop luxuriously anymore.

I have a friend who's a university professor not far from Tokyo. He's (by now) in his 50s and his mortgage is until something like 2080. I really have no idea what will happen on the day he retires. I don't know for sure, because it's un-Japanese to speak about one's troubles to a friend (esp. a younger foreigner, me). If I have to guess, declare bankruptcy and live on the street. There are at least a million homes in similar crisis/timebomb.
Buying a Tokyo apartment from one's JAV income is one of the most un-wise things to do. Probably worse than buying an expensive car or things you don't need.
Anyway... this discussion about JAV idol's financial management originally came out of some good bits of gossips, but also it's gone off to total speculation. Which is ok, up to a point. I feel like AV idol's income and financial management should be a sticky topic on its own. There's always interest in it. Frankly I'm fascinated by it too. But I hope to sheppard this thread to not stray too far from gossips of the day/week.
Anyway, the salary of top av actresses could easily be 5-10x of what an average professor makes in 1 year, so I don't see the problem there. It sucks for the unpopular ones.
Gods! Don't apologize! You're both right in terms of 'exclusive != retirement'. I wrote without thinking it through in regards to that. Sorry!
She posted on Twitter that she just finished shooting a scene with Shiina Sora today. She says something along the lines of "One more scene it is!" And another post referring to the same scene with sora saying "I want to exceed one last time".Arr...Shuri Atomi going on a hiatus? If there's one AV girl I would like to dump my genetic material in, it would be her. As it is, too much of it already has gone down the drainpipe because of her...
The Yamaguchi sisters who are the pioneers that kick start mainstream-idol-to-AV trend was spotted working at a small cabaret joint as hostresses for some reasons in 2015
Even big names can still fall on hard times after retirement. Money don't last forever without careful managment.
There was no proof they where working there, it's believed that they where making an appearance, but besides that we haven't heard anything from them besides one of them being married and having a baby
Except that the now long deleted facebook postings (along with their photos) don't refer to them as guests :-
You can see Riku besides Riko in the following, so you can't deny you have not heard about both of them :-
ok so when did I say i have not heard about both of them?(looking for there vids is how I found Akiba) and if they where working there and not just making an appearance(like a promotion of the club and such), how come all we got where those pics of them there and nothing else at all? no reports of people visiting them, and other things? I remember that time, and didn't hear anything else after that about them working there
What about the fake semen in creampies and multiple squirtings. Sometimes even the facial are staged. Not as obvious in censored av. In western porn the guy either can't hold it and make the girl kneel or he ends it early with a camera cut to the moment he cums. Not a fan of the pov crotch shot and camera shutter sound in between and sometimes the cameraman doesn't stop talking.https://twitter.com/avshimiken/status/888616624592375808
"When a porn actor goes "Oh~ I'm cumming" 80% of the time he's telling the cameraman "Get the camera into position cause the money shot is happening in 15 seconds
"When a porn actress goes "He getting real big ! He's getting real hard inside !" 80% of the time she's telling the rest of the staff "It's fine, this guy still has it in him to go. Don't worry"
Not sure he is serious. But I will not rule out that there some small gesture that meant something during filming.
2017-7-21: Famous Agency for sale? Asking price is...
How interesting, we have had both regular studio and uncensored studio come knocking on our door to inquire if WE might be interested to acquire them. [let me emphasize once again, I am translating from reports from a Taiwanese-owned, Japan-based company which operate booking service for AV idols. ]
Those are pretty unusual propositions each on its own. But the timing hints that it's not just coincidence. Now we heard a third similar inquiry: a famous agency is contacting us about a possible sale.
Well, I have to say, we are a bit excited that established industry players have us on their mind with such proposals.
So what can I tell you about this agency... It's not a major company. Their top idol had come to Taiwan last year for an event (but not booked by us). They currently manage 3 idols who are each a contract girl with different studios.
When the studio [I assume he means the regular censored studio] approached us, the asking price was 90 million yens. So we were expecting an agency to be worth about the same. But the agency was asking for twice that! That's a lot higher than we expected.
The agency says they [meaning the business or the boss' physical health?] are in fine condition. The boss is only considering retirement because the workload is heavy. If a prospective buying is really interesting, a bargain can be negotiated.
Is an agency really worth more than a studio? Or has Yen exchange rate gone down a cliff? [This last question makes no sense to me]
Despite the high asking price, we intend to have a sit-down negotiation. Also, this is a crack in the belief that foreigners can't enter the industry. I know about two agencies which had recieved Chinese [he means ethnic Chinese, not necessarily national Chinese] capital investment. Yet another agency has been in final negotiations with a Hong Kong investor.
So what's behind all the movement? Is there a race to the exits by the established players? Are [ethnic] Chinese finally breaking into the industry? Is there a shortage of capital?
If there's any progress or new gossips as we go forward, I will report in here, stay tuned.
Here is an admission from a former talent, Kohaku Uta :-

The money she had earn is all gone. Considering what she had done in her career, that is surprising. Last I heard, she is working on and off at Red Dragon.
