I'm getting way too lazy to translate all the gossips I managed to read, hack, I'm even getting lazy to read JAV gossip (can you believe it, US and UK politics is more dirty and laughable than J-porn).
1. massive leaks, not just unfinished raw footage and pre-mosiac'ed finished vids but also still photos, full real names, contracts. It's gone way beyond the "proper reason" we are here: masturbation. Now we find ourselves in gawking and shaming territory. I think it's going in a bad direction.
2. The impact is starting to seem real. Prestige is basically free-for-all. SOD is a little bit behind but maybe end up just as leaky as Prestige. It's not a matter of one or two idols suffering a one-off leaks. Many idols, current and recently retired and long retired and established career idols as well as short-contract "I needed some money then, wish everyone could forget about it" girls. And each idol may suffer multiple leaks. Multiple top idol's retiring recently is a fact, massive leak is a fact. Is one caused by the other, we can't be sure it is or is not. But the connection is very worrying. On the other end of the supply chain, can it be affecting young girls considering to join AV industry? No one can say for sure, but no one can say for sure NOT.
3. some rumor that idols have seek compensation from studio (mainly Prestige I guess) for allowing the leaks to happen, and sounds like some compensation (not sure it's all about money) were made. But it's pretty much guaranteed studios by themselves can't make everything right again.
4. how is it impacting the uncensored industry? Mainstream products stars far better quality idols and features much better production quality. If you take away the mosaic (even for a tiny fraction of all censored vids) there's nothing left for uncensored commercial industry. Anyway even without the leaks, the FC2PPV business model might be killing uncensored industry like Caribbean etc.
5. THE KEY POINT causing me to actually sit down and post something: in a user comment to one of Playno1's articles, someone points out some social-economic trends in Japan that might be surprising to many in the West and relevant to JAV leaks. The point is Japan as a whole (gov, schools, major and minor corporations) under-invest in tech. The big shock for me is average computer programmer income is barely more than average cashier working in convenient store. So most young people give up looking for a challenging and rewarding jobs and those few who actually seek challenge would leave Japan to find highly paid jobs everywhere else. His point is that most companies, especially minor companies such as JAV studios have extremely poor network and computer security. He claims it would be a cakewalk to break into any small company computer systems. He pretty much blame the studios (but knowing it's a common problem for most Japanese organizations) leaky security for the leaks.
