Awesome. She was on the verge of dropping off the front page of my actors with the most scene counts on XBVR. 1 more title might help her hang on for just a little bit longer but its only a matter of time.

If my collection was more through with the other girls, she would have already been relegated to the 2nd page as they are clearly more prolific than she is.



I only recently took an interest in Kanon Urara and she already has a substantial presence in my collection. At this point, I think this page isn't likely to change aside from Saika dropping out and being replaced by err... let's see who is on the 2nd page... OK, very likely Momose Asuka. I actually quite like her and have been collecting her vids, just haven't catalogued some of them yet.

But we have almost identical tastes, at least 32 of those 36 actresses are among my all-time favorites... Ichika and Aoi are easily at the top of almost everyone's list, not only do most people like them, but they have shot dozens of VRs....

Of that list I miss Nagase Yui and more VRs with Tadai Mahiro.

I have translated KAVR-323 with AI and WOW!! it's like going from night to day... The dialogues change everything, and it makes the movie 10 times more exciting.

Kaede Hasumi is a very beautiful girl, even more so in VR than in the pictures, with a great body, and she has a very calm and pleasant voice, which makes her even more erotic. The dialogues bring you much more into the movie, and at least for me they make it much more exciting. I hope they shoot more VRs with Kaede Hasumi, she only has two.

It's true that in many movies the dialogues don't add much. But in others they contribute a lot. I'm not translating all my collection, only the ones that I think could add something to the experience.
Whisper is amazing, it has improved a lot in the last few months. It translates correctly 80-90% of the dialogues. In VR the result is much better than in flat because usually only one person speaks, and the microphone is closer.

I'm pretty sure Tadai Mahiro and Ogura Yuna are still active, I have no idea why they stopped shooting VR with SOD. Such a waste...

Does anyone know if Shirato Hana has retired? I've been subtitling some of her VR movies and not only she is great, so beautiful and cute, she also knows how to talk to the camera. But it's been almost a year since any VR with her has been released.... I fear the worst...

Sadly, Shirato Hana has been gone for a while now. A non-announcement retirement; she left around the same time as her fellow friend and performer Asuka Momose in early 2023 (Momose still has backlog videos being released, but she is retired).

Many of my favorite actresses are retiring, without having shot in 8K..... Shirato Hana has one 8K VR with Resorevo, but it's pretty bad...

And the new actresses coming in, are not at their level, not even close, with some exceptions....

I tend to overlook VR newbies for those I have a pre-established connection with. Makes me wonder what the landscape will look like once the usual VR workhorses and familiar faces have retired.

Too many performers are being wasted in 2D, doing the same tired old genres over and over. Sucks

Would love to know the reason as to why certain popular JAV stars haven't shot a VR scene in the last couple years, if at all. Would hate for them to retire without seeing them at least once. Shinoda Yu is already gone, amongst many others.

Why some of the best actresses shoot very few, if any VRs, is a mystery. To my knowledge, there is no information on the subject.

Shooting a VR seems more difficult than a flat film. They have to spend more than an hour looking, moaning and talking to the camera. They also expose more of their bodies and you see more of their flaws, as we know, and maybe they don't like it. Do VR intimidate some actresses, and do they not want to shoot them? It's possible, but I don't think it's the norm. Others have said they like it, and some have shot dozens, like Ichika or Erika.

I also think that shooting a VR is more comfortable and less aggressive for the actresses, because almost all the VR films are vanilla, there are very few extreme scenes, and little contact with the actors, because there is the camera in the middle. That's a plus point for VR films.

In the end, they are professionals, and I guess most of them shoot VR or flat, whatever the studio asks for.

Do actresses get paid more for shooting a VR than a flat film? It is possible, as it is more difficult. But curiously, VR films are cheaper than flat ones at the stores. Maybe the more famous actresses ask for more money to shoot in VR, and many studios don't accept it, or just to shoot a VR every 1 or 2 years.

The reality is that in 2019 or 2020 SOD VR, for example, filmed many VRs with star actresses such as Suzu Honjo, Tadai Mahiro and Ogura Yuna, and now film none....

I don't think they used to make more money than now with VRs, now there are a lot more glasses on the market, and in the hands of users. But it's true that a few years ago there was the "boom" of Google Cardboard, which died because the movies looked terrible, and maybe now they have less sales than before... The truth is, I don't know.

According to the article, VR has fewer margins for error in regard to its shooting process; it is more restrictive in position choices and themes; VR effectively relegates the male co-star to the strenuously silent role of stunt-cock (certainly not the most desired role); the editing process is far more resource-intensive than flat; more people are needed to operate a VR shoot than flat. VR is very much still in its infancy, unsurprisingly.

Given the well-oiled nature of the industry in its bi-weekly output, the unpolished VR variable throws a spanner in the works. As has been said in the thread, many VR directors/studios consistently miss the mark in their works. The tricks of the trade are known to only a select few.

Why VR films are cheaper... hmm... perhaps VR currently serves as a loss leader in the industry. Willingly lose money in this avenue to hopefully gain more VR adoptees who will purchase more works. Who knows.

A shame that the less aggressive, therapeutic style of porn is harder to shoot than the brain-rotting, voyeuristic style that can be pumped out on a conveyor belt in a matter of days/weeks.

If VR pays about the same as flat, it's clear why one would stick with the one easiest. Much respect for the freelancer VR workhorses. High output in both 2D and VR is nothing short of impressive. Putting the 1-2 flat video a month exclusives to shame, that is for sure.

An additional difficulty for JAV VR is censorship. Censoring in VR, and in 8K is much more difficult and resource consuming than in flat. SLR is already censoring with AI for their releases in Japan, I don't know if they already use AI in JAV VR as well.

Seeing the difficulty, it is admirable that more than 100 JAV VR movies are released every month... WOW!!

Not forgetting the newish AV law (prohibits filming 1 month after signing the contract; prohibits publication 4 months after filming; actress can rescind the work a year after release). I assume VR isn't exempt from the law. There was a period where 2D releases were scarce, some studios going from 12-15 releases to just 1-2.

With all of these hurdles, I'm glad VR is still trucking along. Had completely forgotten about censorship - what a pain to deal with. Though, I'm not sure if I'd want it to go away you see... have long acclimated to the guy's blurred junk. Though, wouldn't mind seeing the ladies...

Her last VR was at the end of 2022, so glad to see her back. Not sure if I prefer her or Mei Washio.
