very good news and thank you for your hard work

regarding series combination samples for example Nude model very popular series what spred thought many index ids
undedr madona juq107 80 35 etc
jul 999 959 924 885 846 720 401 etc nude model ntr
under lulu 154 with different name
under nsfs 43 100 828 866 nude model wife
under ipz 570 etc
the list will go to infinity but even if there is a title combination for series under the same studio series that would be massive

slave island from rbd is contained 20-30 titles I think
soap wife also really big
as r18 does not give access anymore I can not get more concrete samples anymore

the studio and genre catigories are too big if you have even 20-30 tb collection with studio you limmiting it from 20000 to 3000
and with genre you might limit it from 20000 to 5000 to 1000 which is still a lot

Ah, yeah, much more clear, thanks. So, you'll be pleased to know that a genre management tab is already on my to-do list: https://github.com/JavLuv/JavLuv/issues/75

I've got a few ideas about the design and features, but the final design is still very much a work in progress. I remember seeing something similar in Kodi, and thought about how useful it would be to view and manage all genres from a central location. There are a lot of duplicate, redundant, and plain worthless genre tags scraped from multiple sites. I've added some default genre filters (check them out in Settings), but it would be better if users could take more of a hand in managing that themselves. And of course, we'll want a way to list movies by one or move genres as well.

Studios will probably be next. That's because it's relevant to pretty much every movie. It's currently pretty easy to search by studio, but it would be handy to have a listing, so you can view them by popularity, etc. I haven't made a task for it yet though.

Series is technically more of the same, but it's a bit problematical from a design standpoint. Of the four websites I scrape, only two of them have a "series" field, and even then, I almost never see it filled out properly. So unfortunately, I fear it's not going to be populated with much at all. That would mean people would probably have to fill out that data themselves, which probably means most people won't use it.

For me to evaluate, if you'd like (or others), feel free to give me some series (a few IDs of each) you'd like to view with this sort of feature, and I'll check out how often those websites even fill out that fields before making a decision. I'll probably run a quick check on my own data to see how many movies have the "series" field filled out. I'm pretty sure I do currently scrape it if it's available - will double-check that. So, consider that a "maybe".

Don't know where you scrape but sextb.net and javguru are my two go-to sites and they have a lot of data. javguru is good about listing series.

Thanks for the info. I've put them both on the list of potential scraping sites to investigate: https://github.com/JavLuv/JavLuv/issues/45

I'm not sure I've mentioned which sites I actually do scrape. Currently, for movies, it's JavLibrary.com, JavDatabase.com, Jav.land, and JavBus.com. For actresses, I scrape JavDatabase.com and JavModel.com.

Currently, I'm technically limited in what sites I can scrape to those that don't make use of Javascript for either searching or display of information. That's a lot more complicated to deal with than basic HTML parsing and addressed-based queries.

From my experience "series" field is rarely used and films from various series are rarely tagged. So like you mentioned people would need to fill this manually. I like sorting by series sadly no sites I know execute this on consistent reliable basis. For searching movies from series I like, Im using sougouwiki, but even this dont have a lot of series.

Yep, I checked in on a number of those examples, and very few of them were properly tagged. For example, the JUL series only had four movies tagged. Some had none at all, or just one or two. Slave Island had quite a few titles tagged properly, but out of how many total, it's hard to say.

This would be a no-brainer if the metadata were consistently tagged, as I like the idea in general. As it is... I'm kind of leaning "no" right now.

These sort of features require a lot of time to finish, so I'd rather not spend time on something few people would use simply because the metadata is so incomplete. I'd much rather spend my limited time on something that would get more widely used, and there's still a pretty big to-do list.

I would love integration with online site accounts. JavLibrary and JavDB both have the ability to make a user account and keep a record of films that have been watched, owned, or wanted. It can be tedious to log that info manually! It would be very satisfying be on JavLibrary and know if I already have a film in my collection while I'm surfing around. The clumsy predecessor to JavGuru had this feature, and allowed users to enter their l/p. It would then log in and mark all movies in the database as owned.

Just edited to add JavDB as well.

So, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to exposing the "Series" field in the movie detail view, and making it a searchable field. I've been scraping the "Series" field on websites when it exists from day one, after all. I just didn't expose it initially because so few sites fill that information out. But then again, there are a lot of movies don't list a director either.

Likewise, I've added plenty of rarely used editor functions. I could see adding a batch editor for movie metadata (it would probably only be exposed if you selected "Show advanced features"). Just select the movies you want to edit, right-click, and pop up a special dialog to do that. Then you'd at least be able to search for specific series if you want.

Let me know if you'd be interested in a feature like that, and I'll certainly consider it.

I think that would be a good feature. The ability to easily edit and add searchable tags would be nice. It would be nice to search for "Big Tits" and also be able to add a rating value the user has assigned. Then I could search for all big tit movies I've rated 4 stars and greater.

I'll vote for support of all of the above!

- searching/inclusion of series (JavBus and JavDB split the difference between my good sources of finding series info)

- easy editing/adding/searching tags

- BIG support for a user-rating function - five-star rating might be sufficient - editing and searchable functionality!

I found a minor bug in the latest version of JavLuv. The filter counter in the bottom right part of the main screen, showing either movies or actresses selected in the current filter, has a habit of reverting to showing actresses found whenever a filter is applied regardless of the current view. It is only updated to showing movies found after the user switches to the actress view and then back to the movie view. I noticed it when I was testing the new filtering options.

Thanks, will check it out.

Edit: will be fixed in next patch.

Considering everything you said. If it's not lot of work I wouldn't mind. Everyone can do with this field what they want.

It's already done in the development branch, so it'll be part of the next patch. The batch editor will be more work, so that's a feature for the future.

I noticed something today that I think was overlooked when implementing the new actress feature in JavLuv.

I added a new movie to my collection from an actress from which I already had some movies - and where I had added my own actress pictures. I had the actress view open and I scanned the movie directory in which I had just copied that new movie. The movie appeared in the overview as expected, the movie count increased as expected but the user added images for the actress disappeared and were replaced with new images - which presumably were freshly scraped online. In order to re-instate the pictures I added myself I had to go look for them in the folder where JavLuv keeps all images and add them again.

So in the process of adding a new movie, from an actress that was already existing in my database, movie metadata was downloaded including new actress images. Which in this case ended up being a destructive option, because I had already added my own images.

As I was combing through the image folder in AppData I also noticed many duplicates of images that I have added myself. I don't know how this came to be, but somehow data got duplicated many times over.

I have 591 actresses in my database, but the actress image folder has 2151 images in it.

Wow, that's pretty interesting. And mildly depressing for me, since now I have to track down and fix what's going wrong. :(

Okay, to start, when your actress image was erased, did you check to see if it was one of the alternate images for the actress? An actress can have as many pictures as you want, so I just wanted to double-check that it didn't just select a new image to display, instead of actually clobbering the old image. You can click on the left or right edges of the image or use CTRL+arrows to scroll between them.

I'm seeing a bunch of duplicates in my own folder as well. That's good, actually, since I should be able to reproduce and debug the issue. Don't bother trying to untangle this manually. I'll write some sort of automated function to de-tangle everything once I've got a fix in place.

This happened to me also.

I have 7383 images in Appdata/local/Javluv but I cant see any dupes. I could run it through a dupe checker but mine seems clear for dupes.

I have 3774 actresses in library according to JavLuv so somethings amiss.
