FA has a line (Neko to Tachi) that is 99% of the time all female scenes. Most of what's available for free out there now is from this line and doesn't have any MF scenes. Even the titles that aren't in this line that indicate they have lesbian scenes are in fact "all girl."
Even the oldest of FA works often outshines the crap is floating around now. With few exceptions, most of the performers can barely feign interest in a g/g scene these days. Tsukamoto hired some great actresses. My only qualm was that there were too many "MILF" titles.
Lesbian AV overall is not nearly as well-done as it was a decade ago. The market is now flooded and so the overall quality has dipped.

And what happened to the inventive titles that Lady was putting out? Or even SOD CREATE? Part of what I liked about AV as opposed to western g/g was that creativity. That's gone.
Yes, I actually didn’t know why loveGIANT hated FA-PRO so much for the mixed het/rezu vids because l only found rezu ones in my exploration of it. Luck of the draw, maybe? Either way, I still avoid FA-PRO. I saw ONE good title, FAX-113 actually, so I downloaded a bunch but I ended up not liking any of them. I don’t know squat about photography so I don’t know what difference using film makes, but I wasn’t a fan of how the vids looked. More than that, though, I couldn’t stand the aggressive, animal-like way they had sex. (Who has sex like that?) Or how some of them featured sex machines. I’ve only perused about a dozen so my opinion might be limited, but the ones I saw were liked that. To me, those performers didn’t have interest in the g/g scene. Excess doesn’t mean more to me.
As a lesbian, I think that lesbian AV overall
has gotten better. Yes, the lesbian genre is not considered a legitimate genre on its own by most,
but I think there are more studios, labels, and directors out there now that are treating it less fetishistic-ly. I was never comfortable with how lesbianism was portrayed as sick, twisted, deviant behavior in some of them. Especially in FA-PRO. Sure, there are vids like that still
but there’s also a whole lot more that is just girls and women having fun with each other, trying out the lesbian thing. I think there has been a slight attitude shift towards the positive. The fact that there are more lesbian-only studios and labels and more importantly, female directors is a good sign for lesbian AV.
Creativity’s definitely at a low due to mass production, but I don’t miss LadyxLady’s earlier titles. I much prefer their latest titles with just 2, 3 actresses. I know some people miss their scenarios that involve 5, 6 girls. Maybe it’s because I’m a boring lesbian but I like to see TWO women having sex, preferably while having fun or having a connection to each other. Even if it’s the same old “let’s-just-toss-them-into-a-room-together-and-hope-for-the-best” (which is pretty much what LADYA’s like), I much prefer that over the old stuff. For me, half the fun is figuring out if the paired actresses have the chemistry to resuscitate a dead-on-arrival video. It makes finding those rare gems so much more pleasurable.
