Ok, I have enough information about 172.
Title: Apo Apo World: Giant Baba 90-bun 1-hon Shoubu (APO APOワールド ジャイアント馬場 90分1本勝負)
Release date: 1996-06-15
Length: 90 minutes
Studio: KSS Films (ケイエスエス販売)
An OVA based in the famous Japanese wrestler Giant Baba. I still don't get the pun in the title, only part of it ("1-hon" could be read in Japanese as "Ippon", which would change the meaning of the phrase). Anyway, it took me longer than expected because there appears to another anime with Giant Baba as the star of the show. I need to find a more solid clue, because all I have is that it was a TV anime in the 1970s-1980s, tentatively called "Yuke Yuke Baba San". Since I have found no Japanese source, I still have my doubts.

Regarding the division of threads, I'm not against it but I don't think it's that necessary. It will help users not interested in ero-anime get interested in finding missing old anime. If it was not 15+ restricted when originally released then it should not be considered ero-anime. This applies to all ecchi anime. Regarding splitting efforts, I don't think that's needed and I don't mind that the posts get mixed, actually. It's only a matter of moving any anime here that's not ero-anime to the other thread, nothing more. If someone posts a normal anime here, we simply move that post to the regular anime thread once we find the information regarding said anime. After all, how are we supposed to know if an anime is erotic or not if it's unknown? Once we get enough information to determine if it was or not an ero-anime the post could simply be moved to the other thread.
Regarding the matter of handling numbers, I don't think that's necessary. Simply keep the numbers as they are and move them to the other thread. A single numbering is more than enough until we finally have all information regarding the list. Only then we should consider having two different numerations. I don't think that it's going to be that great an effort, though. After all, AniDB has already over 7000 anime entries. At most, not counting new anime, we could find another 1000, no more, I think. Finding rips, though, it's another story.
