I just moved back here for the second time. I'll post a few images starting with a couple from my first time living here in 2008.
This is Kurobe Dam. We travelled there during the winter. It was really stunning.

A few more from Kurobe. Apparently during the summer you can sail and go boating on the water which sounds like fun.
At the very top of the dam I also discovered they were selling my favourite warm coffee. Canned coffee is available everywhere in Japan from vending machines (which seem also to be everywhere).
By the way, at the time I was living in Shiojiri and Hakuba. Hakuba is known for it's winter sports; Shiojiri is known for, um, not much really :snooze: I was interested to find that it was once connected with the salt trading routes, rather like the town I come from.
