This photograph of Aquamarine's makes me smile everytime I see it.

Just something about the two of them, their respective postures and how they're relating to each other -- the little squirt, seated at the grown-ups counter with her boots dangling nearly a foot off of the floor, patiently explaining how things work to her (is it?) grandfather who, even when viewed from the back, seems both delighted and thoroughly charmed by her company -- as they enjoy some gyoza, ramen and beers (okay, probably more like a juice-box or two) at their favorite ramen-ya.

wait a minute...there's not a single light on anywhere in this segment of one of the world's most populous cities? or is this filtered (actually reminds me of the tint/hue of a scene in Michael Mann's Heat)

The only filter I had on was a HAZE-1 which does virtually nothing... actually no, it DOES do nothing. It does't do nothing of anything? It...

It's just -THERE- on the end of the lens to protect from dust & scratches... anyways, the reason for no lighting is that the power went out 27 days ago when zombies took over Tokyo, thus no electricity. The only safe place is at the top of Mt. Fuji and it's a little far away...

(or it could just be that the light in the buildings was not enough to contrast with the light of the sun going down in the sky, thus making it appear as though every light in every building is actually turned off)

Oh and for those interested, these photos are from Kyoto

One very interesting thing about Kyoto city is that NONE of the businesses are allowed to have bright colors. This is the city by-law to help protect the 'brighter' opinion of those visiting the temples since all of the temples and shrines are very bright yellows, reds and golds. Neat!
