I must have slept through it, but the numbers are going up, possibly peak hours

it was my bad.
i've updated the whole server and somehow missed a few things.
so the php-process constantly crashed. It took me some time to fix this - sorry :/

and as it seems ... i've missed again a setting -.-

No problem. :) It was a little bit of a shock for me because I got the 404 independent from the URL I typed in (means the AO URLs like alerts, watched/forums, my profile, etc.). So I thought AO was knocked out.

Yeah, I noticed it too. No worries. There is a reason that we praise you for effots and not just your successes. It is through your efforts that you show not how good you are but how much you care. We do not expect you to be perfect, that is too big a burden for any man to carry. We are here for you as you face the rocky road of progress in your endeavors here because you have been here for us. So don't let these little setbacks get you down.

I have made a partial investigation, and have found some that has been deleted, at the moment I have no idea why, and I know why you accused me, I made the rant about not linking and thanking original posters, but that does not make me the deleter, (above all else I wanted members to see the rant), and I would have said, if I deleted them

Ceewan already nicely wrote everything that I also would like to express. I will only add one thing:

thank you but

make it C00Lzero

No, I think I keep it "admins". :) That includes C00Lzero and he really might be the most important one by keeping the forum running and improving things and providing infos about the state of affairs. But for example your work is very important, too: Keeping the forum clean, paying attention that everybody follows the rules, deleting spam, checking the correct usage of filehosts and imagehosts, helping users and stuff like that.
And I don't even know what's going on behind the scenes dealing with things like finding a sponsor and other issues that a forum of this size and type causes and who of the admins is working on it.
So I think it is appropriate to say "admins".

Edit: But I will buy C00Lzero some extra bacon if I ever should meet him in person. :D

The unread post-count is back!

but. it will cache the results for about 5 minutes until it will ask the database for an update (we had to set it up this way, in order to keep the strain on the db as low as possible)

and again an unplanned outage...

the Database has reached the size of the partition...
that means it growed over 6GB within the last 4 Weeks...
i've resized the partition to 3rd the size it had - i think this will help for a while :)

Sorry for any inconvenience :/

Okay, that explains why I couldn't access AO for the last maybe 1.5 hours. ;)
Keep up the good work. :)

i hoped, that the caching wouldn't put that much strain on the database.
looks like i was wrong :(

disabled the unread-post-count
let's see if the errors will disappear
