Today Rina posted that she will be able to make the announcement.

Then later this day...

She posted about being in a nationwide TV commercial and becoming one
of the daughters of YELLOWHAT.
For those who doesn't know YELLOWHAT, they are a fairly big company that
sells car parts and accessories.

Rina with blond hair :D

One other girl seem to be Ayumi Myojo and the other Miura Yuna.
Both lesser known than Rina and seem to not be gravure models.

I think this is what she was shooting in Mars when she said we will
get to see another image of her than we are used to.

Well not that much acting in it and it sounded like they shoot much
more than what the commercial shows. I hoped Rina could get to shine
more than this. They didn't use much her talent and great personality.

So it's exactly not a "personal announcement" as she wrote last week.
As that generally indicates a big change in personal life and often means retirement/graduation.

Well for her personally this is a big thing as its her first bigger commercial work and
it will be seen nationwide as it's broadcasted on bigger TV channels.
I truly hope this opens up more doors for her to get more commercial work,
work as actress and fashion work. I hope it will get her good sponsors as well.
It seems like G☆Girls signing with a major label has given Rina more work and in
bigger projects than before.
Been waiting for Rina to have a bigger breakthrough for years now and for her sake
I truly hope it will come.

According to a friend who seen the commercial on TV this evening says it's actually different than
the video on youtube. Instead of the long outdoor scene its more focus on the girls.

Here is another version of the YELLOWHAT commercial Rina is in:

Sadly Rina's face is covered in the end by the symbol.

Seems like Rina is getting a lot of attention because of this commercial.
Many Japanese news pages made reports of it and most focus on Rina only and not
on the other girls :)

Older G☆Girls MV. From the year 2013 when Rina joined the group.
Rina is the only member left from that line up.

Looks like Rina's idol group G☆Girls will be at Budokan this year. But not as a headliner
as their goal is. Instead it's a 1000 idol expo event. So far 130 idol groups have
been announced. The whole spectacle is 10 hours.
I doubt all these groups will be playing live. It's more like "meet your favorite idol" event.

The G☆Girls have in their live performance a so called "gravure show"
Basically its each girl doing a sexy dance to some western popular music.
Here is a short clip Rina doing it:

https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/852797131974860800/pu/vid/1280x720/6G7S0hwISsgXigH4.mp4

This is FLASH G☆Girls producers idea how market the group and try make them
more famous. But did they forget that a idol group must foremost succeed
and become famous by their songs and not by some side act?

I wish they could put effort and money to actually get the girls new
songs instead. And actually also songs that are good and can take them further.
And why not focus on singing lessons and dance lessons of their songs.
As they really need to improve in this instead spending time practicing some
dance show.

Rina did a shoot for a magazine this week. Seems like she finally will be featured in some other
magazine than gravure magazine.

That's called show business. If your material and your songs are mediocre, but you have five sexy girls on stage, that's what sells! Do you think Ladybaby had any success at all because their music was great? It was a gimmick. Most of what I've heard from Japanese girl groups is the vocal equivalent of cotton candy... but they look fantastic.

I'm very aware of show-business, sex sells and gimmicks to market idols as well :)

Perhaps I didn't explain well enough why I was critical about the way FLASH chooses to
marked G☆Girls.

First, wouldn't it been more logical to spend time and money to get the group new and better songs?
A gimmick isn't enough in idol....you need to kinda have good songs as well. In idol you need both to succeed.
Well that's the basic formula especially in these days if you want to stand out among all the idol
groups in Japan.

The biggest problem with this kind of image and marketing is that doesn't seem to go at hand with
what goals they have for G☆Girls. They want them to succeed, sell gold and even play at the Budokan.
Spending time and money on some sexy dance to some songs other than their own displayed to a small
audience of about 100 men will not make them any bigger or sell more singles.

If they need a special gimmick to sell G☆Girls. I think they must come up with something better.
Doing a sexy dance isn't really something new and different either. And FLASH has been doing
similar marketing for the G☆Girls since 2011 and still the group hasn't been able to become
more famous. Even if sex sells it doesn't seem to worked in their favor.

Then why not spend time and efforts to get the G☆Girls exposed to a wider audience instead.
Like try get them to appear on radio or tv shows. Or why not do as most idol groups who aim to succeed, have free live shows at public places.

Some of the G☆Girls members have actually talent as well. It's then kinda sad they don't put more effort,
time and invest money to take care of it. With more vocal lessons, better songs, better image
and better choreography...they could actually become more famous.
One would think a agency and producers behind a idol group would be more interested of that.
As it could make them more money. In the end show business is a business after all.

So why do I care so much about this? Well it's became I like and care about Rina. Knowing it's a dream of
hers and knowing how much Rina really wants them to succeed. I truly wish and want that to happen.
She has stayed and fought for G☆Girls since 2013. That's why I find it sad that the producers behind
G☆Girls can't have the same determination as Rina has.

They got 8 beautiful woman in G☆Girls and the image and promotion FLASH gets them makes
them look sort of "cheap". The girls deserve a better image. Even if they are gravure girls and they
are supposed to be sexy. It could be done it much better way.
Just compare the commercial idol video posted above with the latest G☆Girls video.
G☆Girls could also look fantastic with the right production, styling and image.
And still be attractive and sexy.

One more thing. The members of G☆Girls also would like to do all female fan live shows.
I guess also they realize that these days you need to also be able to attract female fans.
But I can't see how this would be possible. As what I understood there ain't any female fans
at live shows. If FLASH and G☆Girls want to also attract female fans. They are obviously on the wrong path.

Or as a woman commented on Yahoo news page:

"I saw a G☆Girls poster on my way home and the impression I got it's a poster for a strip club considering
the image of the girls and as the slogan said "Come and see breasts"."

Even if one could say Ladybaby was a gimmick and that was a reason why they got famous.
It's a bit tricky to compare them to G☆Girls. The reason why they where created and their
image is also rather different.
Another difference is also that Ladybaby had three talented members already from start. They were on a different
level. Some of the members of G☆Girls could also been at the same level if they had early on got good producers and lessons.
I agree Ladybaby musically they might not always be that good. But some of the songs are good and it wasn't
only the image that made people like them. Even if you go for a gimmick you still need at least decent and
memorable songs. The songs need to also hook people and a image isn't enough.
At least producers of Ladybaby took care of their talents, spent the time and money on the right thing.

WPB 2017 10

Rina shows her private underwear:

WPB 2017 10.jpg

Well if something private or something secret is revealed..then there is no magic or mystery anymore.

So a gravure model isn't even allowed the privacy of keeping
her private underwear a secret?

But then her revealing she likes the Dear Luv brand of underwear
isn't really a secret as she has talked about it before.

I prefer the second post.

When was that marathon and who participated? Or maybe: how to google for it? ;)

I should been more precise in my description perhaps.
Didn't expect anyone would be interested in this event :)

Anyway. It's the Akiba Marathon idol event.

"アキバ★エンタメマラソン"

If you search with that and year 2016 your should find plenty
of info.

I only checked this event as Rina would be there with her idol group.
I don't know exactly what groups appeared. I noticed Kamen Joshi was
there as well.

Basically the idol groups have to run and also then play a live
show during the day. Marathon is a bit wrong marketing as I noticed
most idol groups only run 5km.
Rina's group G☆Girls also did only the 5km. Off course Rina was the
fastest of her group. As she is the one who is more determined and
perhaps in better shape than the others are.
But she wasn't the fastest of all idols. Strangely most idols seem
to not have that good endurance or stamina, even if they dance
a lot.

It's not that big event and there is not any really famous idol groups
running or performing. It would also been hard to arrange with
bigger groups. As this event allows also fans to run with their
favorite idols. (although all groups didn't allow this)
Just imagine if AKB48 or something like that would participated.
It would been chaos :D

Only video from this event where one can spot Rina for a moment is this one:

Here are a few more photos with Rina from the event:

According to IMBD Rina has been in two movies and
will appear in one more.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5949741/

But the info is not correct.

Pure Smile: Rina Nagai (2012) is a IV and not a movie.

"Ghostwriter Go movie" is a cancelled production. I haven't
found any info that it's the Rina we know that would been
in this production. Could be another actress with the same name.

"Ushikoku ni mairu (2015)" I researched and it's another
actress with the same name as Rina.
Her name is written in two different kanji "永井李奈" but it also
means Nagai Rina.

The weekend that was Rina's idol group G☆Girls went to Okinawa.

010.jpg 007.jpg

First they did a photo shoot for the swimwear brand Peak & Pine.

002.jpg 003.jpg 004.jpg

Then they performed at club Epica.

001.jpg

They also did live performances at the Ginowan Tropical Beach festival
even if it was rainy and stormy.

005.jpg

They also walked the red carpet at The International
Movie Festival in Okinawa.

006.jpg

While being in Okinawa it was no surprise that Rina would go
eat her favorite salty ice cream.

@HaRiNa: Can you actually prove that you have posted in the right thread?
