Yes, I downloaded it from Uploadstation and have tried 3 different players. I get nothing on WMP and sound only on VLC and Media Classic. Which hoster did you download from?

I tried everything I could think of and the closest I got from having a video was a green screen with some moving noise on top which make me believe that maybe the encoder re-encoded a DRMed video without actually removing the protection.

And putting avc inside an avi wasn't a very good idea to begin with.

Hi I play JUC-656 just fine. I am not sure what the difference is to what I am using compared to you all. I have ffdshow video and ffdshow audio decoder which always starts up when I playing these files.

Seriously? would you mind If I pmed you to figure out why or we could try to figure it out in the IRC channel if you know how to go there. I tried every combination of codec I have installed including ffdshow and I never got any video.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out what was causing the problem.
- The LAV avi splitter will prevent you from seeing the video so you need to disable it if it's on.(That's what I forgot to do with in my tests yesterday)
- The LAV video codec won't play the video so you need to disable it if that's what you're using.
- The EVR renderers also won't play the video so you need to change it if you can(options->playback->output in MPCHC)

I received a report that it works with a default CCCP install(Not sure which version though).

The majority of the videos I have downloaded will play fine on at least one of the three players I have, this one will not. Now I come to find I have to disable splitters and change renderers ( all of which is gibberish to me) to just watch this ONE video! Why can't people upload with normal codecs so that one does not have to jump through hoops to actually watch their uploads?

First, the uploaded is not necessarily the encoder of the file so it may not be his fault and the codec used are normal, it's just the way they're put together that's problematic.

What most likely happened is that the guy who encoded it didn't really know what he was doing and used a buggy software that does it all automatically and those splitter, codec and rendered can't bypass the bug it encountered in the file.

Sadly, not everyone knows what their doing when encoding stuff but it's understandable since it can get pretty complicated.

If you make those changes, everything else will still play fine.

For VLC, you can't(because it sucks). It may work with the nightly builds though.

*It's working now with the EVR renderer, not sure why so this one might not be necessary to change*
For MPCHC, in the menu bar, go to View, Options..., expand the "Playback" section if it's not already done, click on output in that section and change the video renderer in the "DirectShow Video" column. You can pick any one of them as long as it doesn't start with EVR but one with 2 * on the right is best(madvr doesn't come with it and doesn't work with everything so don't pick it). That's for the renderer and most likely the only one you need unless you installed a codec pack that uses LAV filters.

For the LAV splitter(if you have it installed), find the shortcuts for it in windows Start menu(check for "LAV splitter configuration" under your codec pack section). Choose the input format tab and uncheck avi.

For LAV Video codec, run "LAV video configuration"(from the same place as the splitter), go to the formats tab and uncheck h264.

If you don't have LAV installed, then there's most likely some codec causing conflict somewhere. the easiest way to fix it is to do a clean install of cccp and it should fix all of your problems(check the play 10bit video tutorial in my sig on how to do that. Maybe I should expand that tutorial since it's the second time I point to it for non-10 bit videos).

I changed both of those LAV settings but it did nothing, there was no change in viewing the video. As far as that renderer thing, I do not know where to look for that as I see nothing that is labeled MPCHC>

I should have made that more clear, I guess I'm too familiar with just MPCHC.

After you changed the LAV settings, is FFDshow loading(a red square box should appear in the tray near the clock) assuming you have it installed of course? If not, enable h264 in MPCHC by going in View, Options, Internal filters and check both H264/AVC in the column on the right.

They were both already checked. I checked the payback/output for the renderer and the one checked starts with EVR but there are none that have 2*, so I am unclear on which to use.

Update:

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I picked one and it is overlay mixer and the file plays perfectly. Will this change affect any other file I might play? Thanks for all your help!
