Etiquette question, here: Some of the titles that Mihiro and JPTor have posted lately have not been the kind of movies I like. I have zero problem with that, we don't all share the same tastes and a lot of stuff they have posted has been stuff I've loved!
Still, while I don't like the individual titles I'm very happy that they're posting new movies. My question is, should I be "thanking" them even though I don't like what they posted to show appreciation for putting new movies up at all?
It seems like the answer is obvious except that I wonder if I would be encouraging more of the kind of movies that are not what I like. Thoughts?
There are many different ways you can thank them other than using the thanks button:
-You can add to their reputation(the scale icon on the top right of a post). It's pretty much the same thing as a thanks, but you can add a custom message and if I'm not mistaken, it won't show up in the post like a normal thanks.
I only received a few of those and never gave one so I'm not exactly sure how they work.
-You can leave them a visitor message in their profile page saying thanks(or simply say thanks in the thread, but it's less annoying for the people that follow the threads if they don't see a ton of thanks posts).
-And last(that I can think of right now) but not least, if you're thinking of buying a premium account with the ddl host they use, you can buy it using one of their links since they'll get a commission. I bought quite a few idol DVD's from the money I earned that way.
I personally only use the thanks button for the movies I downloaded and decided to keep or if I find a post particularly useful.
