I agree with most of what you said. Back in the day there were many vids that I was looking forward to solely because of how hot the actress starring in them was, but nowadays there are only a few girls that I watch and even then just the genres that float my boat. Maybe it's just that the "public's" tastes have changed over the years, I don't know, but for example if you look at Premium's "Glamorous" line (PGD- titles) from pretty much the early days until the 600s you can blindly pick any title and you'll have hot chick starring in it. Now compare that to today's line-up of "Elegance" (PRED- titles). Maybe it's just me, but there's not much there. First of all, you are looking past the fact that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
Take Ruri Saijo for instance, one of the actresses you used as an example of the golden days. Well, for me she wouldn't even make it to a top 100 list. Sora Aoi, Minori Hatsune, Yuma Asami... See where I'm going? Everyone has a different taste. When I read "Your favourite (insert whatever here)" kind of threads, I find myself puzzled. Most of the stuff you guys find appealing (performers or genres), either it does nothing for me or it straight up turns me off. But that's OK. I'm just a very vanilla kind of guy, and that's why you need a variety of content to keep everyone happy.

Which leads me to my next point.

Based on my own experience it's exactly the opposite. When you're a young lad stomping around in the field you'll take pretty much any girl whom you find half attractive to have sex with, but once you've gotten enough experience you know exactly what you want (in sex, looks, personality etc.) and you won't settle for less. I personally have peculiar tastes in different women's faces and bodies. As long as they are not morbidly obese or have a genuinely hideous face, there is a lot of room for variability in who I find hot.
