I was thinking of changing my postings habits a bit and was wondering what you guys think of the infos I want to put in my next posts and the files I'm going to add.

If I'm doing the rip myself(using MeguIVit for great quality), I'm going to:
-Encode to 60fps(maybe also do a 30fps in some cases) mkv with chapters.
-Separate the main movie from the extras.
-Create a preview file if there's one in the movie(some DVD's show a little bit of all the scenes at the beginning). This won't be removed from the main movie if I create a preview.
-Use the actual chapter names if they are in english.

I'm also going to include in all my posts with the video files:
-A .md5 file to verify that the files aren't corrupt(quickpar is great to check those kind of files).
-The .nfo file I create that contains all the infos I put in my posts about the movie.
-The DVD cover.
-A folder.jpg file that contains only the front part of the cover and is used by some applications as a thumbnail.

I will put all files in rar archives with no password separated by the biggest file size I can that fits all hosts and name them with the DVD code and using the old way of naming rars for shorter filename(.rar,.r00 instead of part01.rar).

If there's something missing you'd like to see, something you find ridiculous or unnecessary or you don't like how I placed things, just let me know.

Infos included in the posts:
In the title box: [RS-MU-HF-(any additional hosts, thinking of adding filesonic)] english_title_of_dvd [DVD-CODE]

DVD cover using the fullattach tag(meaning it shows up full size with no thumbnail at the bottom)

Thumbnail of 4 columns by 5 rows thumbnail file created with media player classic

English title
Japanese title

Link to dvd page on original website using an anonymous redirection

Filetype: DVDISO or extension of video file
Runtime: Official runtime(the one on the dvd cover)
Code: DVD code
Studio: Name of the company
Label: Internal label for the dvd series
actresses: English actress name(japanese actress name)
Release Date: date the dvd was released

Comments about the movie or special informations about it.

Description of file if more than 1(for example: Main movie, Extras or Preview)
Duration: runtime of the file
Size: file size in MB or GB
links for all the hosts of this file(I put them in a code tag if they are cropped by the forum)

as a downloader i like to have the models names in english and japanese, so if youre crazy about one, you can google for more stuff.
second: the dvd code, just in case the links are dead.
third: its very nice the if movie is split in 4 to 6 rar packages with interchangable links at two different hosts.i think i once saw a hollywood movie split in like 73 parts...nightmare!!!
the other stuff as usual, length of movie, director,label,studio,size,release date.

i think thats about it...

Just noticed I forgot to add the link to the official website after the english and japanese title(When I can find it and it actually exist).

Label and studio are a good thing to add that I didn't think about.

About the director, do people really find this information useful? It never occurred to me that the director of a porno could do a good enough job so that people would want to search more of his stuff.

release date is probably also not so important, why do you wanna add a link to the officialwebsite, aint that risky?

So people could get more information if they want to.

I always put one in my previous posts and it never seemed to have caused any problem, but to be safe, I could put it in a code tag so people would have to copy it and akiba shouldn't be the source of the link then.

I'll ask the admins what they think about it.

The release date is just to know how old the movie is, it can be useful sometimes.

Edit: I'll use an anonymous redirection website so it will be safe.

Time to make some new changes!

First, I'll be adding the director to my infos since my view of JAV seem to have evolved in the past 2 years and it has become important info.

Second, and most importantly, I'll be adding an XBMC info file so that people using it will have the movie information displayed. This is where I'll want people's opinion again.

I will change the cover file(DVD-code.jpg) to DVD-code-cover.jpg, the front of the cover(folder.jpg) to Name-of-movie.tbn and the nfo file to Name-of-movie-orig.nfo. The XBMC infos will be in Name-of-movie.nfo which get loaded automatically by the software.
I'm not sure if I should add fanart(which get displayed in the background) or not since I'm not sure what I could use for it.

Adding most of the information is pretty straightforward since I just need to fill the available field with the right info, but the problem is with the DVD code which is important info, but isn't supported by XBMC.
So I was wondering where/if I should add it.

Right now, I'm adding the japanese title as the original title, the english one as the actual title(or the dvd code if it's not available) and the dvd code as the sort title(but it doesn't actually get displayed in the interface).

Here what it looks like so far:
[FULLATTACH]757496[/FULLATTACH]
[FULLATTACH]757497[/FULLATTACH]
[FULLATTACH]757498[/FULLATTACH]

So I was wondering if I should add the dvd code at the end of the english title when it exist or not. I'm also not sure if I should add the japanese name of the actresses and director at the end of their english name.

I would very much like peoples opinion about it or anything else I could make better or have missed.

I definitely think the DVD code is the most important so it should be in the English title for ease.

I don't think that many people care about the director so much as the actresses, so I don't think it should be in the English title. As for actresses, maybe you could put that in movie details? The title could get convoluted, especially with a very looong title or very biiiiig cast. I like things neat.

I wasn't planning on adding the director or cast in the english title, they already have their own fields. I was just wondering if I should also include the japanese name after their own english name, for example Rio Hamasaki (浜崎りお) instead of just Rio Hamasaki.

I might try to put the actresses where the plot is, but I'm not the one who chose where everything goes since I use the default skin and it's the one who chooses how thing gets displayed so even if I change it for myself, it won't be for others(unless I explain how to do it).

The problem is that the skin is made for normal movies so the priorities can change a little.

Edit: BTW, here's what the info file actually look like:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<movie>
  <title>No bra, no panties, black tights</title>
  <originaltitle>巨乳ノーブラ女子校生ノーパン黒タイツ同性愛</originaltitle>
  <sorttitle>ANND-004</sorttitle>
  <runtime>120 min</runtime>
  <year>2008</year>
  <genre>Lesbian</genre>
  <actor>
    <name>Rio Hamasaki</name>
  </actor>
  <actor>
    <name>Ryo Akanishi</name>
  </actor>
  <director>Tatsuhito Suzuki</director>
  <tag>JAV</tag>
  <tag>Anna and Hanako</tag>
</movie>

Samkook, sounds like a great idea. I use Plex but it's based off XBMC, would this work for Plex users as well? I would love to find a way to organize my JAV collection on my home theater as well, but never could find metadata for it like it can automatically find with movies and tv shows.

Love the idea behind this.

I'm not sure since I never used plex and I couldn't find if it supports it natively on the website. I did find this though so it probably does: http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/XBMC_Movies

If you want to make sure, copy the infos in the code tag from my last post, paste it in a .txt file, change the data to fit one of you movie(or don't and remove it afterwards), rename it the same as the movie but with .nfo as the extension instead of .txt and refresh the data for that movie in plex if it was already there.
If you try it, let me know if it works or not.
