Wondering how have your tastes in JAV changed over the years? Well I just recently got into jav like a little over year ago so im still a bit of a hatchling lol

Coming from Western porn, it was a very long adjustment period for me:

Interesting question. I was already around 30 when I first got into JAV - there was never really a period where I preferred teenagers, mid-20s actresses with a more confident presence was what I was after mostly.

I think initially I was primarily collecting lesbian, BJ and bukkake/gokkun titles. The latter because of the differences from Western porn (at least in the mid-2000s), although I almost never look for that now.

Reflecting on it, my favorite JAV have good stories, actresses, and sex scenes. Many of the URE series fulfill that for me, like URE-011, URE-014, URE-019, and URE-030. Many of these share a common theme where the mature actress succumbs to her sexual nature.

I've been watching JAV heavy since 2017; back then, JAV was super crazy than it is now. I would spend countless weekends browsing a studio's whole catalog watching how styles change and videos going from SD to HD. I've always been into mature/granny porn. I'll answer with a story: I had been studying about 6 years, and had had a sort of breakthrough moment that told me I needed to go ahead and take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test): I was watching a comedy special (M-1 Grand Prix) with one of my uni's Japanese exchange students, and we were laughing at exactly the same jokes with the same timing. I thought afterwards that, if I were proficient enough to understand spoken word comedy, I might as well take the test. Back before they started calling JLPT levels "N1" or "N2" or whatever, I started with ２級 (second to top) and passed without issue. At the next available opportunity I took the １級 (top level) test and passed each section with 90%+; my top score was in the Listening category (97%).

That was over 10 years ago, and I've continued studying and expanding my knowledge since... though admittedly my knowledge of JAV-related topics doesn't come up much in conversation.
