doesn't mean she has the right to give the finger to her old group, she fucked up 3 times and got kicked out, I doubt they care or think any of this will affect them, and she can't give the finger to them because without them she surely wouldn't be as popular in JAV as she is now, she kind of owes them everything with where she is now

"Not forgetting one's root" I know. But it's like the unforgiving parent who did the basic necessity of clothing, feeding and educating the child but is intolerant and treat him harshly. So the child gets kick out of the housr without much support apart from a name and he strike it out on his own. A matter of view really.

In case I wasn't clear, I'm asking for an detailed account of her thrice fucking up.

Caught drinking while underage. Caught badmouthing fans on the net. Caught dating and smooching a fellow celebrity.

So I was waiting for someone knowledgeable to comment on Moko's group. So... we can establish:
SKE48 > NMB48 > Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome
right? And Miko's time and status within NMB48 was also shorter and lower than Yua within SKE48, so if Yua was a minnow, Miko was a shrimp. What about Moko? Scandals?
So do we have the following pecking order?
Yua >> Miko >>? Moko

I know you are a supporter of girl groups, but hope you don't mind my opinionated opinions. Do correct me if I'm wrong. In my head, girl groups (or whatever you call the likes of 48 universe, I guess any group with more than 6 members, matching costumes, usually perform live, ...) are a whole rank lower than regular J-/K-pop group (3-5 members with distinguishable costumes and hairstyles, sometimes distinguishable roles). The top groups gets a lot of exposure and make a lot of money for the producer. But for the girls a career in girl group is neither here nor there. The chance to graduate to a bigger brighter celeb status is small. As far as I can tell (without looking very hard) not a single graduate from Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome have achieved any fame, other than making AV. 48universe is obviously more meaningful, e.g. Atsuko Maeda and Tomomi Itano developed legit careers after AKB48. But it seems there are comparable number of graduates went to nude gravue and AV.

My point is... a short unremarkable stint in bottom half of 48 universe and regional girl groups is technically celeb credential. But equivalent in the West would be perhaps a second week dropout of a minor reality TV show. Mostly forgettable. Which is perhaps how Moko Sakura got on the celeb AV stage for months before I (and a lot of Akiba members too, I guess) noticed.

Ohh one more nugget to share. Since it wasn't obvious to me...
Yua's debut vid was called Peach, refers to her AKB stage name Momo
Miko's debut vid NumBer01, refers to her NMB48 backstory
Moko's debut vid Fuck Stage, refers to her old group name Back Stage (バクステ) (外神田一丁目 is a historic name for (or near?) Akihabara) change バ to フ, you would get Fuck Stage out of バクステ(?)
Pecking order is SKE48>>NBM48>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome

I don't think Moko had any scandals, she was one of the most known members early on, so she was just offered a bit of money by Hokuto/Muteki and joined in, she's a bit older(turns 27 next month) so was probably just worth a shot.
pecking order though is probably
Yua>>>>>>>>>>>>>Moko>Miko

It depends on the fame level of said group how far members go in fame, like the 48 universe they've many girls that are doing things consistently in the mainstream, like you can probably find like 60-70 girls from all the groups combined still somewhere in the mainstream(tv, photobooks, gravure, music, radio), but only a few are super famous. Smaller girl groups fame level also decides how far members go, but if you have talent and exposure you have a good chance of going far, but for a long time in Japan Morning Musume and Akb48 where the top dogs, while in Korea Super Junior(11 members) and SNSD(9) where also the top dogs(one of them is not anymore while the other is debatable).

The issue with Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome(and that universe) is that they aren't(weren't) very famous, and where there main feature was having a lot of members, it's hard to get anyone famous out of a non famous, large group. AKB at least started small, and as they got bigger and bigger they kept adding and growing.

I think a short stint in the bottom of the akb/ske part of the universe you have a good chance to get some level of fame if you have talent, or something unique about you, then you have a chance.
Caught drinking while underage. Caught badmouthing fans on the net. Caught dating and smooching a fellow celebrity.
smooching that celebrity while drunk, and caught smooching another guy(maybe boyfriend)

Ohh I missed the Moko > Miko part first time I read it. So top dog in a nothing group is better than a back row girl in NMB48. Gotcha.

Also from the first pix I saw of Moko, I didn't know she's old.

Thank you for your insights in the girl group universes. Allow me one more question:

Take a typical AKB48 member, how long is her career? How much would she make during this time? My impression is that it's kinda daily grind that wouldn't be attractive to a girl with real talents. It might be legit as a launch pad, but if a real talent spend her prime years (19-24) in that universe, half of her candle is already burned and she wouldn't have that much to show for it (fan base in the range of what? under 10,000? )

I think a mid-ranking contract girl with a major studio (S1, Prestige, Moodyz, Oppai, kawaii) would have a much more impressive income than an average member of AKB/SKE (forget the bottom like NMB)

This gets at the question if Yua's graduation was her "messing up" or "fucking up".

Mikami already answered all such questions back on a late night interview session on TV back in late 2016 :-

http://sho12.com/geinou/mimami-gyara

Her salary back at SKE was akin to an office worker her age according to her.

And they were no doubt hinting at her to quit after the series of scandal were published over paparazzi press. Efforts such as telling her to go to the edge during group photography session and not assigning jobs to her. Typical Japanese way of telling a person to quit on his own accord so as not to put blame on the organisation. You fucked up so just commit seppuku.

Right... Next question is SKE members get a lot of free time? If they are expected "at the office" for 30+ hours each week, then SKE life is arguably worse than average OL.

Life as SKE
Pros
Fame (to thousands of SKE fans)
Upward mobility (if you are talented)

Cons
same income as nameless OL
not less work hours than OL
less upward mobility than OL (talented OL can also get promoted)
work on weekends
less stability (forced gradation at what age? 29?)
no chance to find a husband (dating is banned)
OL can get drunk after work

So I wonder if we should follow SKE's official line that her graduation as a "failure" on her part. Put it this way if I had a daughter I would absolutely ban her from joining AKB/SKE etc. If she's talented, join a legit J-pop outfit. If she can't make in "real" J-pop, go work for McDonalds or OL and either find a real career or find a husband (or both). Ok maybe I would let her join SKE for a short time, say 6 months. When 6 months is up, either graduate to real J-pop or find a real job, or maybe marry the richest (and faithful) male fan. OK maybe to improve the odds for bigger brighter stardom, instead of a quiet graduation (quitting), generate some headlines and infamy with something, smooch a celeb, a scandal... well would really prefer a positive, glam headline, but a scandal with some hot boy idol (not rich old creep) is ok too.

How I see mega group such as this is that everybody is exposed to the same training and draw the same wage. But the more popular ones draws bonuses from events, apperances and recordings. So the incentive to be able to make yourself stand out. How does a girl do that is up to her. Of course there is the cheap and easy way....

And yes, mega group can be consider as a boot camp to the entertainment world. If the girl is able to tolerate the training, the internal politics and get herself noticed, she can cut it.

Quick review of KAWD-871 電撃移籍 kawaii*専属デビュ→ 外神田の人気No.1アイドル 桜もこエロス覚醒3本番
KAWD-871s.jpg

Moko Sakura's debut at kawaii* (after her debut at Muteki) As expected, the cover really push her celeb cred as "Sotokanda's no.1 popular idol". I am ready, hook line and sinker. (well her look in the dance cover youtube vid was rather underwhelming, but I have the hots for singing&dancing AV idols). Arggg... my enthusiasm started cooling even before the intro music and credits is done. kawaii approach the vid exactly the same way as EVERY SINGLE "debut" vid at kawaii (and S1 (and maybe E-body too) too, for that matter). Moko doesn't put on any J-pop costume, sing or dance. Her (or blame the production) fashion sense is completely unsophisticated. I mean fine if she doesn't want to over-exploit her old idol group (like doing 3P in Sotokand's most recognizable costume) but at least show off a girl with talent and glam. Blah ... her choice of dress would rank in the bottom if she walks around in trendy Shibuya.

Also we reconfirm her face is below average for kawaii. And her tits are unimpressive, which is a not really a problem, there is plenty of room for sub-C-cup tits in AV. But her butt is a major disappointment.
KAWD-871-cap1.jpg
Does that butt look like a champ to you?? For a 27 year old MILF, that butt would be fine, but a J-pop idol, whose thang is dance cover? And the gesture... stretching lazily, not dynamic, energetic.

And we are at only the 1 minute mark of the vid!!

Long story short... take away her celeb cred, I really doubt she would get solo vids with any major studios. Nothing about her is impressive. If she had not wasted her years at Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome and entered AV at 21 or 22, maybe... But now... idol cred can definitely support her for one or two more AV but she needs something more to survive. Perhaps scene 3 gives a hint:
KAWD-871-cap2.jpg KAWD-871-cap4.jpg KAWD-871-cap5.jpg
(well first thing is knee socks and plaid short skirt and somewhat cute outfit, but trust me this is the exception, all the other outfit in the vid is garbage)
Close up shot of anus is a little uncommon for a second debut vid, and then tongue-sodomized. Doesn't count as anal (it's too brief anyway) but that suggest a viable path for Moko. That butt that's too fat and loose for an idol is meaty and yummy for anal sex. If Moko learn to let loose (literally) she may be able to establish a niche place in JAV. Otherwise, I won't be surprised if she completely disappear from both J/K-pop and JAV before end of this year.

Which makes the Honey Popcorn thing look a bit wobbly. Yua Mikami give me the impression she doesn't work well with teammates who are clearly above her or below her in talents and status. It would be interesting question if H-Pop is a one-off cash grab or can stick together for at least 3 months.

Addendum:
Well... I don't mean to say Moko's only chance to survive is open her butt hole for a stud parade. But I'm really disappointed with her being treated like every other newbie AV debut, meaning near ZERO reference of J-pop. (ok that knee-socks short skirt was OK, but it's too little)

SSNI-123 had it right (my earlier post). The whole story is sexploitation of J-pop idol. If Moko can't or doesn't build up a J-pop persona in JAV, nor does she have special skills like anal or bukkake, then base on her uncompetitive looks, she won't survive in JAV for 6 months.

BTW, one positive thing to say about KAWD-871 is that the studs made some excellent cumshots on her face.

There is a reason why a girl in her late 20s choose to turn to porn after slogging it out for so long in a mega pop group with almost nothing to her name.

And the opening ticket sales to Honey Popcorn's debut had been delayed at the last minute with no explanations given. The wordings in the twitter announcement does not make it clear if the debut concert had been postpone as well. Possible backlash from the Korea side ?

Miko Matsuda released 6 vids with S1 so far in her young career, but the most recent 2 out of 6 had her in a submissive role.

SSNI-149s.jpg

Now... this series had been performed by Kirara Asuka and Rion before, so it isn't by any means a signal of failure or weakness. But S1 doesn't do a lot of r***/bondage/sub vids, so two in a row by the same idol is a bit odd. And two out of 6 is extremely high for S1 contract girl, especially someone still so fresh (arguably)

By comparison, Yua Mikami only performed one sub vid in her whole career, that was with Muteki. After she transferred to S1, she never made a sub vid. I don't mean to make too much of it. Many top idols perform submissive vids too. But Miko's role/persona, other than idol, is something to watch in the future.

I am quite interested to see SSNI-149, as I mentioned before, I like a little variation in a recurring series, so -149 cover hints that it will be a little "extra" compared to SOP for the series. The girl group idol uniform is incorporated in the cover (and pre-release pix). So hopefully, this will work itself into the vid, especially the plot line.

As for delayed showcase... let's not assume the worst. I was lacking confidence in Yua Mikami going back to idol business, but still I won't be too happy to be proved right. It would be a bad mark on her (AV) career track if she get into this venture publicly and then it fizzles out before even one single live event and/or one single full MV on youtube.

I think Yua is really the exception among former jpop idols. As you said ding73ding, Moko isn't looking good and to me, she doesn't stand out. I agree that it just because of her past she had a contract with a well known studio. I watched few trailers of Miko Matsuda's movies few months ago, and it was the same, she has nothing special. To be honest, I even stopped watching Shoko Takahashi today. So one former idol less in my collection. I stopped with MIDE-448 that I watched last week. I found new girls with big boobs that do more than her, like harem, so their movies offer more variety.

What timing! I've actually only gotten into her lately, stumbled onto SSNI-101.

Cute, perky boobs, personally think her face is quite different / both cute and sexy.

Definitely a fan, but hope her content gets a bit more interesting soon.

Any recommendations as to best titles from people who like her? I've only seen a few.

My favorites so far are : SNIS-919, TEK-073, TEK-076 and SNIS-800.
(I haven't seen any movie after SNIS-964 yet, I'm late but that's because I follow many girls and some are freelancers so they have far more releases every month).

@Restrepo welcome to the bandwagon. Personally I found all her vids to be plus-good. Meaning better than good, perhaps none of them are great. But "good" isn't enough to convey the point. If you find (some) S1 vids to be good, then Yua give it a bit "Plus". Let's say "メンズエステサロン" (Gentleman Beauty Salon) a series (like all soapland and brothel vids ) that I find quite boring, If Yua's in it, and compared to another JAV idol who's (for argument's sake, equal in hotness and skillz) performing in the same series, I think Yua bring something "plus" to it. As we all were watching the Oscar's I think best to describe that "plus" as Hollywood glam. Anyway... instead of recommending you my choice of her vids, based on above, I suggest you just pick her vids as if you are picking JAV in general, trust that she has sprinkled some Hollywood glam magic dust onto whatever you have chosen.

E.g. SNIS-786 her debut at S1 ("graduating" from Muteki) I got a huge kick out of the faux press conference as if she's really a legit celeb capable of drawing 20+ reporters. Is she hotter than other S1 debutantes? Maybe not. Are her sex scenes way better than S1 average? Objectively speaking, no. But the press conference (and similar intangibles ) makes a difference for me.

Another way for latecomer to get to know her is her latest compilation vid:
OFJE-139 三上悠亜初ベスト 最新12タイトルコンプリート神BEST
8 hours compilation of her 12 vids, only 4000 Yens if you want to go legit.

I don't know if I'm fully with you. Remember a short time ago, Jpop-turn-JAV was still extreme rarity. There were not enough of them to make up a category, so without a category can anyone be an "exception"?

Definitely Yua Mikami started a fad. But the difference between a fad and a wave is durability, now the fad is maybe 1 year old, and seems to me it's starting to die off. So let's say by this summer we might see a "winter" of celeb-turn-JAV, then the fad is really over. At the end, we might have only two survivors: Yua and Shoko.

Perhaps this H-PopcoRN shenanigan is JAV industry trying to revive the Jpop-JAV money tree (NOT as launch platform for the members to graduate from JAV). So I'm kinda holding my breath to see if the Seoul showcase (launch) work out in the end. No news is bad news.

I'm still on the fence for Miko. For the hotness factor she is definitely not up to my baseline requirement. Her skillz also not enough to stand out. But she still have some "magic dust" about her that's not nearly as glam as Yua and not as regal as Shoko, but it's still detectable after 6 months (?) so that's something. My hope for her is, if her two gang-r*** vids is not random coincidence, she might offer something Yua and Shoko can not: take the Jpop-to-JAV lowbrow niche. To start with, creampie, lesbian, group sex, orgy, all these Yua and Shoko cannot do even if they personally might accept. Because doing creampie etc would break the "National Idol" persona. But Miko can do the "National Idol for lowbrow sex scenes". After some of these, it would be awesome if she move on to even more hardcore stuffs like anal and enema.

But if she fails to keep that "idol" persona going... then she would be nothing to me, unless she go down all the way to anal sex. A below-30 years old girl doing anal AV semi-regularly still can keep my love.

I know 2 former AKB girls who did few JAV titles and then stopped (2 sisters). But none had a "longevity" near similar to Yua. I think I have a feeling that there was a wave of former idol because of Muteki studio.

For the moment, Miko has non interesting movies (r*** or lotion themes) so I will probably never watch her, except if S1 restart its harem series. Yua has more movies in which she's leading the sex, and I really prefer that.

Of course I didn't say Yua was the first J-pop-to-porn conversion. IIRC there was at least one ex-AKB who had a full length JAV career, I think one only retired recently. She formally retired instead of the usual fading/disappearing quietly. Yua's JAV career isn't even 2 full years yet so it's still too early to talk about longevity.

But she is the first to make it a blockbuster success. Before Yua, celeb-to-JAV was "look how low/pathetic she sank". Yua was the first one to make some big money for the studio (and presumably for herself) so after her studio/agency put out attractive offers and some current and former celeb tempted to JAV. Perhaps to say, before Yua from anything to JAV was a downgrade. After Yua, for the low-end and/or fading celebs JAV could be an upgrade and success path.

Miko's still a newbie, so her direction isn't set yet. She still has her J-pop persona going so I am kinda wishy speculating where she could go, perhaps a whole new niche that no one has ever created before. Actually her SSNI-123 is way too rapey for me. I really really don't like r*** vids, I guess we are on the same page for that. I do like S&M vids, either dom or sub. (shouldn't need to explain the difference between sub and victim, but ... sadly JAV producers may not know the difference) I especially love idols who play dom roles in some vids and sub roles in other vids. E.g. Mao Hamasaki and Aimi Yoshikawa. Esp. after seeing Aimi in some dom roles, it makes it tolerable, actually very kinky to watch her r*** vids. Anyway Miko doesn't have to go to the S&M bottom, there's a range of mid-level themes that for some stupid reasons top idols (Yua, Shoko, Rion etc) wouldn't do. Ahh... good comparison would be Sora Shiina, or Atomi Shuri, imagine Miko do same kind of vids as them but apply her persona as minor celeb. Miko isn't nearly as pretty as Atomi Shuri, and mayne not even as young (looking) as Sora Shiina, but the magic dust...
