Yeah. I love their videos. Especially the newer ones
I don't think that JAV is losing its edge, but it does seem to me that its going through a dip or slump right now. For one I don't think that the industry has any top tier JAV idols to carry the industy like they have in the pass. Yes they have handful of popular JAV idols, but their a combination of the leftover (for lack of a better word) from the previous generation and some up an comes. They don't seem to have those main stream appeal JAV idols to carry the industry. In the pass JAV idols like Sora Aoi, Yuma Asami, Maria Ozawa, Nana Ogura, Rio Hamasaki, Yua Aida are just some among a group of 10-15 JAV idols of their generation that form the backbone of the industry. Right now i don't see many JAV idols that have debut within the last couple of year what have made the same impact as those girls did when they first debut and the following couple of years. Even the girls that have make a big impact when they debut, they either burn out quickly or lose a lot of stream after a good year or two. As for the Idols like Kirara Asuka, Julia , Tsubomi, Hitomi I associate them with the tail end of the time of the super idols of the likes of Sora Aoi, Yuma Asami among other. Which just show you how long they have been around. I huge fan of them, and i still enjoy watching their new videos but it can be hard for them to hold the same high level of attention and excitement of their fans over a larger period of time.
It could also be a side effect of the fact that every year so many new girls debut. Some seem to just want to make a quick buck or two. While others don't see the future they wanted when they first got into the industry. They where probably hoping to hit it big, but after a couple of movies and a luke warm reception they rather cut their loss an get out rather than get pay less than they think they should be getting pay.
Another possibility is that so many cute, hot, and sexy idols debut each year. That we have just become somewhat desensitize to all JAV idols what we are just expecting too much for each girl from the start. So when we see an average performances we quickly lose interest and move on to the next cute/hot/sexy idol that just debut who is the next big thing. As a result we don't get to see jav idols develop and come to their own, because they weren't A+ performers from the get go, like some other girl we saw debut at the same time. At the same time we lose interest on the "it girl" we left some other new idols for because she either had a really luck and good first debut and everything after that is sub-par. Quick example Yua Mikami. I really like her debut movie and TEK-073 movie, but besides those two movies every think else has been average at best. I think that Yua Mikami has everything she needs to be a top star and as of right now is under performing especially compare to her full potential. The same can be said of so many idols out their. I think that is way it seems that JAV is losing it's edge. Especially given that the larger studious producing the same top tier and quality of JAV films and Idols as they did in the past. The bigger studious right now just seem to be buying what they see as top talent idols. Who actually build their name and career at smaller labels and movie genres. Only to be tame and piggen hole into fitting into the what the type of movies that larger studios like to produce. those are my two cents.
This is a very interesting point you raise. Something that I hadnt really thought about. Its strange really as a fan of football/soccer I always notice how the top clubs try to replace their star players with someone similar. You sometimes see this with movies or bands as well. A franchise replacing an actor with someone similar or someone who is similarly capable, or a band replacing a guitarist with some one who has a similar musical style. Its strange that Ive never thought about this cycle of replacing the aging stars when it comes to JAV.
I know in football they are looking and try to promote the next CR, the next Messi, ecc
but it JAV we don't see that because I think they know it won't work
surely JAV fans would like to see the next legend / super star / big thing, but I think we prefer to see them as unique individuals than the next Maria Ozawa, the next Sora Aoi or the next Tina Yuzuki
so the talent scouts prefer to search for new pretty, sexy girls with high sex appeal than girl who looks like Maria Ozawa, Sora Aoi or TinaYuzuki
If JULIA is the prototype JAV superstar, the industry is in trouble. JAV doesn't need another replicant. It needs performers. This is a very interesting point you raise. After reading your post however ive been looking at a lot of stuff and wonder why there hasnt been anyone who has had the impact of that the JAV stars a few years ago seem to have had. I look at the releases across studios and wonder why that is? Have we been spoiled with choice? To go back to a comparision with sports, when a young player enters the scene most fans are very patient with the youngster in the hopes that one day he will fulfill his true potential, porn being about instant gratification we obviously dont have the same patience with new comers. On the other hand I do think that the studios are desperate to create the next big thing. Even though I dont much care for her it feels like the last hugely popular JAV star was Julia. Over the last few months it seems like various studios are trying to make Rena Fukiishi the next big thing, she is all over the place. Ive watched some of her material, it has been alright so far, maybe with time she will improve and truly become the next superstar of JAV something we havent had for a while now.
I prefer Cougars/MILFs (jujuko).Couldnt agree with you more Blade Runner, like I said Ive never been a fan of hers. But it certainly seems like she is very popular among a lot of JAV fans. Are there any performers that you like in particular?
I get what you are saying, but take football for example,CR was supposed to be Beckams replacement and Messi Ronaldinhos. What Im saying is that initially these tags of " the next..." are given to newcomers until they carve out their own space.
I prefer Cougars/MILFs (jujuko).
My faves are:
Maki Hojo
Marina Matsumoto
Reiko Kobayakawa
Hisayo Nanami
Ayumi Shinoda
Ai Himeno
Rei Kitajima
Shinobu Igarashi
Maki Tomada, the Return
Kyoko Nakajima
Kotone Amamiya
Yui Hatano
Yu Izawa
Next Gen
Kana Miyashita-there is always an exception
+1nope, they are different type, Beckham was a crosser, while CR is more speedy, dribble, goal scoring type
the similiarity between them is they used to wear Man Utd iconic number 7
+1yeah, I know some fans would like to say newcomers as "the next ...", but most of us and the industry itself don't think that way
I agree that you can exactly replace one Jav legent with some new random jav idol that you think is the next big thing. But it seems that part of the problem is that the big studios aren't producing any of the new jav idols like before. Most of the current popular jav idols seem to be popping out in the smaller labels and studios only to be miss manage and promoted when the larger label sign them.I get what you are saying, but take football for example,CR was supposed to be Beckams replacement and Messi Ronaldinhos. I really like Julia and personally prefer busty JAV idols, but one thing that I really enjoy that JAV compare to USA porn is that their seems to be a wider variety of body type and personalty of girls. Thats why i hope that Julia isn't the prototype for jav studios. I really enjoy the different types of girls. If JULIA is the prototype JAV superstar, the industry is in trouble. Absolutely!Thats why i hope that Julia isn't the prototype for jav studios. I really enjoy the different types of girls.
