I've never been a fan of the big starlet anyways.. But what I have been a big fan of is outdoor shoots, which pretty much seem out the window now with all the crackdowns.. See here, here. I'm sure this has been discussed in the thread before but it's a pretty real crackdown. Hopefully they'll find some way around it like finding people with private property that they can film on. There have been a few movies released lately with realistic looking public baths but I don't think there's going to be as many onsen movies or the many girl outdoor movies..
the fact is the past few years most of the popular girls are freelancer, and started their career as a freelancer too, the last 3 best actress winners are freelancer, and current top 4 : Aika, Hibiki Otsuki, Saki Hatsumi and Aki Sasaki are freelancer
so I agree with you big studios aren't producing starlet like before, most of them only have short career in AV or failed to reach the top spot
Maria Ozawa was a unique talent because of her looks and performance.I understand what you mean, but from what I've learned JAV people are trying to give new fresh girls, I'm sure they have study the market, and they know Maria Ozawa's replica will not bring them fortune
Sakura Mana who won best new actress at the Adult Broadcasting awards, won the best actress in 2015, the DDM awards are only 3 years old, and the best actress award is influenced a lot by sales, of course actresses who put out a lot would always win those, The award of Excellence is what goes to who the fans vote as the most popular, which have had A contract girl, and Aika win it so your concept on that is kinda flawed.
also if you mean DMM top 4, again that's unfair if you release a lot, great chance you sell more then someone who does 1 video a month, Like Sakura Mana is one of the top 5 girls in the industry, Yua Mikami, and Rion who aren't great performers you'd easily say they are more popular then those 4 freelancers, Acky has been a consistent top girl in the industry for almost 20 years and she does 2 videos a month, Tsubomi also does great at two vids a month.

Julia and Rena Fukiishi are subtly promoted as successors to Maria Ozawa. Perhaps it's deliberate but similarities are interesting: frequent monthly releases, mixed heritage, healthy busts, and nice figures. I will risk triggering fisticuffs (sarcasm) by saying neither matches Maria as a performer.
I seen a lot of peoples turn to JAV becaused her
btw about Rena Fukishi, I think she is unique, failed in the beginning, years later she comeback and rise as one of the most bussy, maybe her luck come late, or becaused other factor
-1 Julia Clap was poor choice as stage name..
Maria Ozawa must have indoctrinated me into JAV; on a tube site, I watched her playing a news anchor getting all bukkake'd (while she was possibly reading copy... in English, I believe), and I thought... who is that exotic beauty.
Even Akiba-Online's "mixed blood" expert, the venerable Paparoach408, could not (in 2013) corroborate JULIA's DNA. Ghostbird pointed to two inconclusive sites, and allow me to present the information from the second one under "Spoiler," as I got an infection warning for that site. (First site, Boobpedia, boldly claims: "Ethnicity: Caucasian, Asian.")
(Once you click on that "Spoiler" button, note the presentation of other stage names for JULIA, primarily "Julia Kyoka," which the Minnano-AV site confirms with the "Kyouka" spelling. I did not know she had a fuller stage name. Her Sougouwiki page reports differently, with "Kyoka" as another single-name alias, along with "Saori.")
If anyone has "evidence" on either actress (I've never thought of Rena Fukiishi as a mutt, frankly; what made those who have said so reach that conclusion?), I would encourage you to make a record of it on the "Mixed Blooded JAV Actress") thread.

That's RCT-168 scene 3. And yes she reads in English (the other girls read in Japanese).
It's one of the earliest JAVs I watched as well. One of the best bukkake series ever, but now defunct, like many great bukkake series, which I guess could be an example of "JAV loosing its edge".
"...Defunct, like many great bukkake series, which I guess could be an example of 'JAV loosing its edge'."
Well there's one way you can make sure the genres you like stay around and that's vote with your yen/dollars, because the stuff that sells will stick around simple as that.. It might get a little more complicated when talking about laws about outdoor shooting but there are ways around that ie shooting on private property if the studios have enough money and incentive.. I think that's the real deal breaker here and that many who share free JAV on sites like these don't necessarily want to hear.. It's not a free lunch. These studious have costs and if they aren't being met and made a profit off of then it's a no go..
I understand, and I'm guilty of it too, but it's the truth.. I've downloaded many movies but I also try to buy when I can and I realize that not everyone is in the position to do that, that the movies are probably overpriced when they are just digital downloads and are the same price OR MORE as the the physical media if they were in Japan.. and that for most people outside of Japan paying for a digital download with DRM that has to be played in a proprietary player isn't very attractive to say the least..
LOLether202: great post. Some of the posters here may want to metaphorically burn you at the stake for saying it though.
