Okay, porn isn't rocket surgery. Some people get together to shoot footage of sex. Many of them like sex enough to probably think that it's easy money.
A subset probably just treat it completely as a means to an end and get minimal or no enjoyment from it. It's possible some are coerced or desperate enough and hate it entirely.
Most people don't "choose" to work long term doing things they literally can't stand unless the money is too good to turn down.
There's enough on screen evidence and behind the scenes footage for me to assume that in general the JAV community of actors has decent camaraderie and a lot of the participants like each other, trust each other and have a good time banging for a living.
Maybe you'll reach a different conclusion if all you watch is abuse and humiliation titles with no behind the scenes footage? I suspect people's expectations of the industry are colored by the genres they watch as much as anything.
Either that or the only way some consumers can justify watching porn to themselves is by being sold on the idea that the participants like making it. This is mostly immaterial to me personally other than to say I would refuse to watch anything I knew in fact to be sexual abuse - because I'm at least masquerading as a moderately decent, ethical human being.
That being said I prefer titles that display real (or well faked) chemistry and affection between actors when the genre allows it. I'm in it for sensuality as well as the sex.
If an actress makes porn, doesn't enjoy it, isn't coerced into it and then bitches about the industry, I say help fix it or leave and get another fucking job.
Bottom line, they're actors who act but that doesn't mean there's nothing "genuine" captured in the performances.
