there is only the left+right picture. as i said i need only the right picture same you use in the browser window.
That's all there is. JavLuv just displays the right half of that picture for use in the browser view. If you want just the front cover, you can use any photo editing software (like MS Paint) to crop and save just the right half.
I'll probably have something you might be interested in soon.
I just finished the front cover cropping portion of my new script and was about to start making it a standalone GUI today to update my 13 years old gimp script I was using until now to do it.
Used some machine vision to make the cropping more accurate than the old script and it works well most of the time from the limited testing I did so far.
Looks like this if you use the option that allows for manual tweaking:
The front is split with padding from the rest of the cover so that there's not a selection box that you can't see what's under it and you can move the padding around to resize or the whole rectangle to move it. It always keeps the same aspect ratio so the thumbnails all look the same size once resized in a media player.
There's also a fully automatic option if you want to rely on the automatic detection, but some might need tweaking if the spine of the cover is blending with the front too much.

Thanks for your help anyway, i cant wait till its ready. I would hope it could than save it in the movie folder together with the movie and same name just -poster at the end of the file so kodi can read it
The plan was to use the same prefix as the cover, but I haven't really think things through yet about the details and I do want to make it tweakable so I'll keep that in mind. The issue is what to do with split movies, kodi can join them or not and I don't really remember how it acts with the poster file.

In these few days, I have tried to scan movies but there are few movies which the metadata comes empty. I have tried to visit the javlibrary manually and check the captcha, when I regenerate metadata, it didn't generate the metadata.
When I opened the log, I saw a line showing that there is a metadata saved for the movie, but after the scan is done, the movie didn't get any metadata. Can you tell me "Saved 1 external metadata files" mean? Does it mean it has found metadata in the site above those line?
This is happening to me. Some movies that had existing Actress data, when rescanned, dont scrape the full data or not at all. An example is NHDTB-200 Actress data was fine and present on most sites ive checked yet Javluv is deleting all actress data. So sounds like a scraper issue.

If I have time, I'll investigate this weekend and see if I can see what's going on. I worry this is a process of more websites implementing anti-scraping measures, but we'll see if that's the case.
Just to clarify, you said you're not getting actress data. Was the movie metadata received okay? That's what you're showing the logs for, and it indicated it was successful. I'll have to check and see if it still reports that if it doesn't get enough metadata. Given that it scraped ALL available websites, I wonder if that's the case. You should see logs attempting to scrape actress data elsewhere, so I'd be interested to see those..
Anyhow, I'll try to replicate that this weekend.
I assume you mean the full cover on the details page? At the moment, no, because covers need to be stored next to the movie. It would be nice to have a "clean movie folder" option where covers and .nfo files are stored in a shared db location. But that remains a future task. You can only see thumbnails and metadata because JavLuv caches that data for search and browsing speed.
No, but you can generate a text list which is copied to the clipboard. From there, you can paste into any application that accepts plain text, like Notepad or Wordpad. If you right click on any selected movies in the browser view, look for Copy Movie List.
I took a look at JavLuv's internal movie scraping tests, and there's some bad news. It looks like JavLibrary has added requirements for JavaScript and cookies to be enabled before they display search results. This appears to be causing the movie scraper to fail, although oddly, actress scraping still appears to work. This means that both JavLibrary and JavDatabase are current non-functional, or unreliable at best. This is problematic, as these are the two websites JavLuv relies on the most, since they tend to have the most complete data sets online among the current set of supported sites.
What does this mean? I will probably need to completely re-work my scraper to use a more sophisticated method that can work a bit more robustly across a wider variety of sites I've very busy at work, so this couldn't really come at a worse time for me. In the meantime, I'll have to ask for your patience if new movies fail to scrape metadata correctly.

Movie Data seems fine, seems to be the actress Scraper or one of them. Im not sure if its doing it still as it could have been at the sites but the data was present on at least JavLibrary as I checked.

Dang! We all understand TmpGuy. Ill just not regen any more until we get a better solution. JavLibrary also will not load for me in chrome with no addons enabled, It works in Opera and Firefox but on Chrome, I get the unlimited checkbox issue.
Edit: Ive just done 20 movies I downloaded to check to see how well it worked. It took quite a while on 1GB fibre lol, usually zippy
anyway 29 in total it was and all within the last few years, All filled all available fields just fine. Ill let you know if I find any that utterly fail.

I don't know how much feedback you get but fyi I just was told about this program about3 or 4 days ago. I did a little playing with the configs and then ran it through its paces. In total I scanned about 30,000 videos spanning Two drives and consisting of about >1000 folders. I have one particllar folder that is a mish-mash of both correctly named files and incorrectly named files with about 9000 videos, many folders that consist of either a specific actresses repetroir or specific productions comanies like Moodyz.. Anywaze there were a few series' like the FC2-PPV titles where I had no luck at all but the very vast majority of my titles which spans tltles from the 1970's to Yesterday and your program, I'm guessing here, was able to glean cover and nfo data for what seems to me to be easily 90+%. The Actress headshot images seems a little less and I attribute that to my having a lot of older titles. My feelings are, if this is the best that you can do, well sir this is MUCH more than good enough for me. This program, even in it's current state, will save me so much work and will help me immensely with my uploading videos to Akiba... So, I've said it before and I'll say it now.. WOW,, thank you. IF you decide to attend to some of the issues, well cool. If Life demands your time well I will be still hugely excited every time I light this baby up. Thank you...
When i add bulk movies to Javluv it happens that some movies dont get the .ifo file made. That means i cant find the movie on my media player, every thing seams fine and the browser shows picture.
Is there not a possibility to get a report what shows when something is missing or wrong.

Are you getting A message after scanning saying "This file exists somewhere else in Your collection"?
Im also sure theres a setting you can toggle to make covers or .nfo for movies it finds no Info on. TmpGuy will help you better ofc
Here it is under settings.
If you are a new user then a tip I employ when batch adding a lot of movies but I am unsure whats new and whats not in JAVLUV especially as the NEW [Toggle] doesnt always function the best if release dates are missing and so on. Anyway, I have a folder I dump ALL new downloads into and Call it say NEW-JAV-DOWNLOADS
Now dump all your new jav in there and scan it with Javluv. Now in the search box in JavLuv, Copy and paste the folder name: NEW-JAV-DOWNLOADS and only movies within that folder will be displayed which makes it a thousand times easier if you are a serial hoarder like me. NOTE: You can do this with any folder. Call it a series name, content name like [Massage] or [NAMPA] and only folders, filenames with that wording will be shown.
If you are doing as I stated before though, for a SORTING folder then give it a Unique name and not NAMPA lol and keep it one word like NEWDOWNLOADS2024 or If you say call it NEW-NAMPA-DOWNLOADS then all NAMPA words, All Download words and all NEW words will be flagged but keep it one word and only that entire folder will be displayed if that makes sense. Just smoked a large one lol so........................
EDIT: @TmpGuy Ive done several others now that have failed miserably and the info is there as Ive manually checked. It seems hit and miss atm.

It seems to be a little more obscure titles it misses although Ive manually checked the scrapers and the info is present. As you said, must be a counter measure to avoid scraping maybe.
