hi. when i make collection because i had to make again i have already around 6000 movies, many dont have the picture. The picture is in javluv base folder or in old javluv database. Why dont the system look for the picture offline when its not online. ?
Why does the pictures in database have these cryptig number names instead of the real name and why does it not take the picture when its in database ?
Now i have to import so many pictures manually.
As I understand it, JavLuv will go to various databases and "scrape" data relating to the imported movie. Unfortunately, that's not a foolproof process so, yes, you will need to manually go out and find cover art. JavLuv does allow you to edit information, including the year the movie was made, actresses, studio etc.

But I don't know how I could possibly organize my near 5,000 movies without JavLuv!

JavLuv only downloads cover images when it's originally scraping metadata, as it's part of that process when it finds images. I've got a to-do task listed to allow users to separately try to find and download cover images separately, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. The scraper should find the image when initially scanning if it's next to the movie and named similarly.

JavLuv only stores cover image thumbnails in the database, and it uses "cryptic names" because those are only stored to improve performance when browsing. For actresses, I store a unique ID in the database because , actress names aren't guaranteed to be unique.

you dont read what i write, i said i have them already on the base folder. Just irritating that it cant take them automaticly from the basefolder. They are all named with Movie ID xxxx-xxx.jpg.
And as i said they are also in the database but using different name. I am asking for a way that it dosent use long time to search the new when they are local anyway.

Does right-click Scan Files pick up the cover images?

I think you need to tell TmpGuy more clearly about what you mean, because I too don't really understand your statements.
In my understanding about your problem, you have around 6000 movies and you have all of its cover pictures from other source than JavLuv, and now you want to use JavLuv to organize your movies, but JavLuv not recognized those covers? Is this what you mean?

In my experience using JavLuv, when I move my movies (along with its covers and nfo files) to another storage, I just rescan the whole folders and everything are available again in JavLuv without any problem.

I thought I'd mention a technique I use when JavLuv can't find actress names in online databases. There is not a one to one correlation between the original Japanese name and English translations. I've learned through trial and error about alternate English spellings.

As an example, I recently found and actress named Yuu Anzu wasn't being located online. This is where you can use the "alternate names", not only for actual alternate names, but alternate spellings as well. So I tried Yū and Yu, and the actress; data was found next time I tried "Update actress".

Hibiki Otsuki is another good example. She has alternate names of Hibiki Ōtsuki and Hibiki Ootsuki. I think the pattern of double vowels can substitute with single letters or sometimes accented vowels. So, give that a try next time JavLuv can't find actress details, and maybe you'll have better luck.

If the romaji(Hibiki Ōtsuki), which would be the correct name, has the - on top of a letter(macron), most official sources will write it without the -(Hibiki Otsuki) since that's not part of the english alphabet I'm assuming, but many people(aka those filling the databases) will write it with the letter doubled(Hibiki Ootsuki) since that's closer to the way it is pronounced.

From google: "The macron denotes a long vowel. Long a, o and u sounds are usually written with macrons as ā, ō and ū. The notation "ou" or "oo" is sometimes used for a long "ō", following kana spelling practices. Long e and i sounds are usually written ei /ee and ii, but in neologisms are instead written with macrons as ē and ī."

So you even have the chance of seeing a 4th spelling with the o(Hibiki Outsuki).

OK let me try to explain. I had an issue with my system setup was HDD and luckily i could retrive the movie Folder. However i had to install Windows again on a new HDD and lost all data from the old. After installing JAVLUV again and pointing to my new movie Folder i rescanned of cause and it started to retrieve new Metadata and the pictures from the internet what took more than a day instead of using the Movie ID pictures i had already on my HDD in the Movie Folder.
So my issue is Why can it not use the Local Pictures what are correctly named with Movie ID

I'm not sure why it's not working. As long as the image file is next to the movie file (in the same folder), and is named similarly (with the ID somewhere in the name), JavLuv should recognize the image as the associated movie cover during the scanning process, or when rescanning files via the context menu.
