$180 instead of $100 - ehm, okay. Seems it is more work than you first thought.

I guess that also buries also the idea of everyone paying $1 or $2. First we need 90 to 180 members. And somehow I don't think that this will be possible.
Next thing: Paying $1 or $2 is totally ridiculous if the fee is $1.23. In this case PayPal makes more money than jz00hj.

I suspect it will be difficult to gauge what the interest is in a particular file, which makes it even more difficult to just pay a nominal amount with no assurance that much---if any---of a particular JAV will be translated & subbed. This puts the risk completely onto the paying customers, who are effectively betting that there will be enough interest to fund a reasonably complete transcription. I see two ways around this:

1. Fund the translation only, then crowdsource the labor-intensive effort involved with timing the subtitles appropriately. This would distribute the labor among those who are willing to contribute while reducing the overall cost. This method would also ensure the community is getting the best use of scarce funds.
   
2. Another approach would be for one person to step up and coordinate the effort to translate/time a particular JAV. This individual would solicit pledges of $5 or so from those who are interested in having a proposed JAV subbed. If there is enough interest, the coordinator would then "call in" the pledges and remit the entire amount needed to the translator. Once the transcription is complete, he would distribute the complete file to those who had paid, then upload a sample subtitled scene for general distribution. If others are interested in getting the complete subtitle file emailed to them, they could pay a premium ($10?) for the file. A system like this would provide an incentive for the individuals who provided the initial funding, while those who choose to wait would have to pay more for the completed file. If there is considerable interest generated in the complete subtitle file, the coordinator could easily see his own contribution reduced to $0, while providing seed money for the next JAV to be translated.

If there are enough individuals willing to pay to have JAVs transcribed and subtitled, translators could provide quotes to the coordinator, who would have the option of selecting the best bid. This would not necessarily be the lowest bid, as folks might choose to pay more for a better quality translation/timing effort. Again, there's an opportunity for the community to contribute to the overall result here, as I'm sure there are others besides myself who are willing to take the time to edit the subtitles from relatively literal translations to a more conversational style of spoken English.

Now the $180 question: QuarterY has already paid $20 to get the work done on DVDES-786 Yuna Hayashi - Mom Disqualification. Assuming he is willing to coordinate the effort required to push this project ahead, who (besides me) is willing to commit $5 up front for the completed file? Alternatively, can we opt for a transcription only and parcel out the work required to time the subtitles to interested members?

I talked to jz00hj about translating DVDES-786, since its scored so high on the community poll. He said it would cost 140 dollars to complete, not counting translating the dialog in the sex scenes. I've already sent him 20 dollars, and anyone else that would like to see this get done ought to contact him and send funds to his email, joseunitec@hotmail.com, within the next 15 days.

Nice to see someone being proactive and getting the ball rolling on this one. I know that i set up the poll and have previously expressed my desire to get this one done so i may put in $10 if i can. The problem is that i also want to see the rest of HBAD-134 done as i have already started commissioning that movie. I will wait until nearer the deadline and hopefully jz00hj can keep us up to date as to how the funding is going.

Big thanks once again for the subs Bonekace! What a selection of movies and the actresses look cute as hell. I've downloaded the movies but unfortunately it seems that nitroflare requires premium access to download. Is there any chance we could get the subs for ABP-060 and IPZ-406 on subyshare as you have provided for us with the RBD-557 file. Just look at poor little Rinon on that cover, the shackles, the uniform, it's just too much!

There's no rush to be honest as i must admit, due to a lack of time, i still haven't watched the previous five subs you donated for us. Seeing as it's subbed i like to watch the whole movie in one go and getting a spare two hours free is tricky although i guess it would be easier if i didn't spend so much time reading this forum.

Also want to ask how the donations are spread out at javsubtitles.com. You've been so good to us Bonekace that i feel i should be sending you a donation as a way of thanks. It wouldn't be much but i'd like to send you something anyway for all your hard work.

For instance, the movie lasts 240 minutes so do you want $300 for the whole movie (going on your $1.25/min rate) or are you just counting the minutes with dialogue, therefore it would require far less donations for the movie to be completed.

It will be for the whole movie, regardless if there is dialogue or not. It would be too tedious to determine the amount of dialogue..Also, considering the first 10 mins are already subbed, it will be only 230 mins. I will test out if this system works out well for at least a few months, but from what I see, it solves alot of problems inherent in this jav translation service.

It will be expensive, only when there is little support for the video. In other words, if there is demand (ie alot are willing to chip out the minimum), you too can just pay the minimum to receive the subtitles. If there is no demand, you would need to donate more to make up for it. This is sort of reflective of the supply demand of goods/prices we see everywhere.

Also, for some perspective, the first 10 mins alone took 1hrs 20 mins to translate. I expect the whole video to take 20 -> 30 hrs, hence the rate of 1.25 USD / 60 secs.

Hello!

Yes you're right. Drop me an email with your bitcoin address and amount sent as prove, and specify which project you want to donate to (there is only 1 now, but more will come soon).

For your second question, there is no lack of financing in this system. The amont donated will fund the project regardless of the total amount received. For example, if you donate 20 usd, 16 mins will be subbed, regardless if others donate or not. Hope that makes it clear.
